The bathroom was in need of attention (E.G. wc seat not fixed). Howeverit was immaculate clean and the towels really luxury ones.no proper room service menu ,just a typed menu of the restaurant meals,no drinks etc. failed to give me my early morning call!! also disliked having to pay £14 per day parking fee!!. The room was very warm and was slightly too small to move around comfortably. The internet was down. breakfast service slow, not enough bar staff (one) on a friday night when the hotel was extremely busy, having to pay £14 per day for on site parking. The room was smaller than expected, hot and noisy (by the street). Parking is very limited and cannot be pre booked. Details and directions need to be given for 24hr car parks nearby. Directions on site said to turn left into Regent Terrace - this is a dead end and the hotel cannot be accessed from this road. Took 40 mins driving round Cambridge to find hotel entrance then had to go in search of a car park.A slight niggle, but there was no bottled water in the room, although they brought some promptly when asked. Could not ajust the bedroom radiator and so was hot.In deed of decoration and furnishing looks dated, without being antique ie a bit of a muddle. Noisy deilvery vehicles. car park fee of £14.oo for one night.There was a queue to be seated at breakfast (9am) in the vast ballroom. However this problem did not arise at 7.15am. Very limited range of TV channels, SKY channel not available nor satellite channels.Room was in disrepair in certain areas - loose tile/glass pane, gap in the ceiling lining. The mould on the bath, tiles and window area in the bathroom. It was clean, but it's never nice looking at black mould when you are in the bath!. Inadequate communication between the desk and other staff. It took two days to get gluten free bread although it was on our web application and six hours to get heat to our room. Air Con/Heating in my room was noisy and I wasn't too sure if it was working or set properly, no instructions in the Welcome Pack in the room. Friday/Saturday nights fairly noisy (other guests and outside) perhaps a notice in the rooms to have consideration for other guests late at night would work. I couldn't see any notice in relation to use of towels for more than one day - environment issues. Hotel is 'tired' and needs renovation e.g. cracked window pane in our bedroom, worn/discoloured/cracked grout around bath, peeling wallpaper on some walls in bedroom and around hotel corridors. The room decor was a little shabby. The bar area was too brightly lit.Not easy to find and the directions were poor.

The hotel has parking for a limited number of cars which is available on a first come, first served basis (at an additional cost). Once the car park is full, parking is then available at the Queen Anne car park on Gonville Place, CB1 1ND.

Travelling information

From the M11:
- Take exit 11 and follow signs for the city centre for approximately 3 miles until you come to 2 mini roundabouts.
- Turn right at the 2nd roundabout and continue until you reach a set of traffic lights, at which you turn left.
- Continue along Regent Street for about 600 yards, until you reach the pedestrian crossing, on your right is The University Arms Hotel.

From the South:
- Take the M25 and exit at junction 27 onto the M1.
- Take exit 11 and follow directions above.

From the North:
- Take the A14 (formerly A604) accessible from the M6, M1 and the A1.
- Continue for Cambridge and follow signs onto the M11 until exit 11.
- Continue as above.

The hotel is located 30 minutes from Stansted Airport and 45 minutes by rail to London.
