What a wonderful place to stay. If we come back to the New Forest we will return to this beautiful and friendly cottage - there really isn't a need to look anywhere else!
The room was comfortable and well equipped, and it was great having a guest lounge (very homely and comfortable) to relax in once our six year old was asleep in our family room.

Our stay at Wayside Cottage was delightful. The cottage and gardens were beautiful and our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Care to detail is a hallmark of this B&B with biscuits/chocolates provided when we arrived and homemade bread and honey available for breakfast. The breakfast was excellent and varied. Our room was spacious, decorated to a high standard and well equipped. Directions were easy to follow and communication confirming the booking was prompt. Situated in the New Forest .
Beautiful house with a lovely quiet room. Peaceful location right in the heart of the forest, walking distance to two pubs for dinner. Great attentive hosts (tea and homemade cake offered on arrival was a particular hit!) and a very nice breakfast, cooked to order, with homemade bread and preserves, local eggs, etc. Absolutely faultless and we'd very happily return!.
we had a lovely stay at wayside cottage. Close to forest, lots of walking close by, and we visited Brownsea Island from Poole just a short drive form Burley. Lots of Birds, animals roam freely down the lane past the Cottage. It was great. Only down side for me Pub food in the 3 Pubs could be better, but the service was excellent.
A very friendly establishment run by a husband & wife team, set in an excellent country home. Lovely breakfast including home made breads, jams & honey and locally sourced products. Beautiful garden and homely environment. Facilities clean and comfortable, with location close to local amenities, pubs & restaurants.

the staff couldnt be more helpful and were greeted on arrival with coffee and cake. had a choice of rooms,chose downstairs so not far to carry bags. had best night sleep in ages,so comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
Breakfast was lovely with everything you would want, loved that the bread, jams, honey was all home made, no rush to get up early and eat they served till mid morn.

Wayside cottage is beautiful, in a beautiful location, Janet and John are lovely and so helpful and friendly, even got a cup of tea and slice of cake on our arrival! plan to make it an annual visit, just lovely, everything.

When we booked it did take a while for our deposit to be taken which created some uncertainty. However a confirmation email was sent straight away.
*Being a bit picky - the shower was a little underpowered, but did the job.
Showers were low-tech - no mixer valves - so difficult to find an acceptable temperature. This was a problem in our kids' bedroom, which had a very short (sit-in) bath. Our 15-year-old daughter remarked that the shower didn't work properly. On the other hand, in our bedroom the bath was lovely to relax in.
