Professional and pleasant service from the receptionist, even though she was under great pressure due to staff shortages. Breakfast area spacious and light. It was very well situated, just a short walk from the town centre and the new Market Place shoppig centre. I have a Land Rover Discovery and the basement car park was so tight and when we came home from the show at 2.45am, the other car park had a large iron gate closed, so I had to reverse back down and squeeze myself into the basement car park at the bottom with only 1" to spare above the roof of my car, not sure what I'd have done if that space hadn't been there.The Chips we had with our Bar Snack were poor quality and would put me off any future meals. We requested a smoking room but were given non-smoking. The Jacuzzi had sand in it.The que for breakfast in the morning was not necessary as some tables were empty. Difficulty of access to car park u/ground.The one negitive comment is that the room seems to have become a little tired. When I went to open the window there was mold growing on the wall inside the window recess. The first room we were allocated was in poor condition so we asked to be moved and the staff were very helpfull. I was a little disappointed to see that the floor near the head of the bed had not been vacuumed and was messy from previous guests - one doesn't like to be reminded that someone else has used the room before you and to see evidence of it was a little unpleasant. Security of the car parking was questionable. Whilst I was offered a "disk" for exiting via a barrier bar, this was not necessary as the bar was permanently upright !! allowing anybody free access of vehicles parked,also the entry bar was also freely open !. The dining room staff were flirting and laughing out loud with each other to an extent that surprised us. Extremely noisy outside until 3.30am, unable to sleep. Hotel is inBolton 'clubland'. Shouting, swearing, people being sick, all audiblefrom room 3 floors up. Eventually finished at 7.30am with 2 menurinating against wall outside and shouting at each other. Avoid hotellike the plague at the weekends. Absolutely. Informed reception staff onleaving, and suggested some Police liaison was needed.bath taps didn't work so had to have a shower instead of a bath. Yes the only room left when we arrived was a smoking room which as i have astma was a slight problem and very smelly. Also when we ordered room services the food was terible and cold.I di d not like the single beds, the website did warn me. Also they put the bill under my door and a survey form during the night and woke me both times. Afternoon lunch - Sandwich. Dry bread and not much filling. No parking spaces available, so we had to park in overflow car park which was a couple of minutes walk away and we had to pay for. . The staff were not "user friendly" the breakfast was overpriced and coffee from a machine at breakfast or at the bar is definitely a no no fo me!. Bathroom was a bit shoddy and room a bit dusty, glad did not pay price hotel was asking for room of £70. Parking area, few spaces available. They messed up my sisters booking which was her wedding night. My husband and I gave them our room to save them having to sleep in a smoking room. Non of us are smokers and don't understand why they allow it in the hotel. These rooms are on the 4th floor so beware.Also not enough staff on duty for Bank Holiday weekend and 4 wedding parties staying there!. The hotel restaurant and bar was cold. The cooked breakfast was cold. No milk in the room for drinks. Problem with room allocation.See above plus the staff tried to tell us we had no breakfast when weclearly stated it! Seemed 'second-rate' as we had booked throughletsbookhotel.com. Sewerage smell in bathroom, Road noise quite noticable, Mistakes made with bookings, Lack of fresh towels in room. The food was absolutely horrendous. Dinner was the usual £25.00 Holiday Inn price but the quality was very poor. The fish was dry, the potatoes were old and split, the broccoli was yellow. Both dinner and breakfast were simply awful. Noise coming from nearby night club at 4am. Filthy net curtains. Scuffs on bedroom wall. Stains on bedroom carpet. TV remote missing. Hotel tried to charge us £14 each for very average breakfast, although this was included in booking rate.Price. total shambles.

Bolton's newly refurbished premier hotel is ideally located in the heart of Bolton close to many places of interest, and also close to the main motorway links. An easy drive away is Wigan pier, Botany Bay, Camelot Theme Park, Old Trafford, Manchester Stadium, and the renowned Trafford Centre. The conference facilities have recently undergone refurbishment, completed March 2006 and all bedrooms and now air-conditioned. Hotel facilities include Club Moativation which features a wide range of facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool for all of our guests to enjoy.
