Gwydyr Hotel is an old House
with his own charme, in the middle of all.You can reach all ''must do'' in this nice country side in short driving times.
Rooms are very clean and cosy, good beds.
Breakfast , fresh cooked,
served from very friendly staff.
If you have a special wish for breakfast ask, you will get it.
Highly recommended the food
for evening meals from the kitchen, fresh made!
Lot of choice, generous portions,( most too much!!!), very good taste, very good value!
The owner, very fr.
Beautiful old building with a lot of original features, that is in need of a tasteful revamp in places, and has obviously been neglected for many years(new owners from Sept 13 still to settle in and are ready for the challenge).I enjoyed my stay and it was excellent value for money. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious.Although due too the recent change in owners there was only a basic bar menu for the evening meal this was excellent as was breakfast was into the bargain.Good luck too the n.
Our stay was actually for the funeral of my Sister. So neither business or pleasure. However we all love Betws-y-Coed and found The Gwydyr Hotel an ideal for comfort and location, The staff were very kind, friendly and hospitable, given our reason for our stay. The food was excellent in quality & choice, with private car parking We have visited Betws many times over the years and The Gwydyr will remain our favourite among some tough opposition! We intend revisiting soon and Gwydyr our first.
Karen and the staff provided excellent service and were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Although the hotel was tired and in need of updating the food was superb and breakfast was included even though not stated on the advert. The hotel is very clean, providing spotless bedding and towels.
Overall extremely good value for money and the hotel is in a fantastic location.
Room very comfortable and warm. Generous supply of tea and coffee in room. Room tended to every day. Shower cleaned out and new towels, shampoo and shower gel supplied.
Friendly atmosphere in bar - a mixture of locals and guests - with drinks prices not over inflated as is often the case in hotels. Staff very friendly too.
Cannot comment on food as I was room only.
Stayed just one night without breakfast so I cannot rate the dining facilities. But the rest was alright. Plus very friendly and helpful staff. We needed to check-in earlier because we hired the mountain bikes and there was no problem at all although it was more than two hours before their official check-in time (2pm).
Loved this hotel, we booked for 1 night and ended up staying for 3 nights. Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff exceptionally friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Was exactly what most people said; a clean, honest, economical, bed
& breakfast in a hotel that is ready for a makeover. Good to have of
street parking in ByC to.
Great location and room was lovely and warm. Good friendly service. Let us have cereals and toast early as we could'nt wait for breakfast start time.
Lovely, warm welcome and excellent staff and service. Rooms well proportioned and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
The Hotel was lovely, the countryside divine, we even had our laundry washing and dries and sent back to our room by the house staff.

They don't make hotels like this any more.
The best welsh breakfast I have ever tasted,a very friendly hotel with
people who care, we will be back,.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and clean. Good value for money.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel in need of refurbishment in the bar. Breakfast excellent.
Staff went out their way to make our family reunion event a very special; and memorable occasion.
The location, friendly staff,

Lovely people at the hotel very helpfull.
Location , price , breakfast included.

the hotel was great value for money.
The staff were really excellent.
Friendly and good value.
Handy, lovely old hotel.
Staff really helpful.
Big room comfy bed.
Fab breakfast :-).
everything.
The members of staff where very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel and easy to park make this a good base to stay in Snowdonia, and it was low cost.......you get what you pay for!.
Rooms and hotel in general in need of refurbishment, but this is being addressed.
The hotel is tired and in need of major updating and this needs to happen soon before the hotel reputation is damaged due to the lack of money being spent on it!
Every credit must be given to the staff who have to deal with unsympathetic visitors who have expectations of a 5* hotel.
Everyone appreciates the building needs a huge makeover, so good luck to
the new owners.
No problems.might be helpful to be aware of local events and adjust breakfast times. We at marathon so had to leave early. Not able to have full breakfast. Easier start time and we could have.
memory foam mattress and pillows gave my partner very bad headache!.
Two flights of stairs, no lift.
It's been bought by new owners and will have a major refurbishment. I hope it wont loose its charm and price it out of budget travellers reach.
Couldn't really say.
The hotel is a little 'worn around the edges', e.g. the towel rail was broken in the bathroom and the seal around the bath had come away.
Shower leaked onto bathroom floor.
Did not cater for early breakfast for any early walkers to Mount Snowdon such as we were.
Staff waiting on need customer service training...not very helpful at breakfast time or friendly.
Shower flow very poor which wasn't ideal after a day in the mountains
Lack of atmosphere in the bar.
Rooms very tired, very small village, far from any big commerce/food centres.
bin in the single room was too small.
nothing.
The 34 steps to the top floor.
Hotel decor is a little tired but we didn't mind this due to the good price of the room.
Heat turns off at night- cold.
Lack of wifi range
Old fashioned rooms need updating
Cobwebs in bathroom.
The breakfast staff were very slow and almost poured scalding tea on one of us.
The fact that there was no proper restaurant on site.
Because they are in the middle of changing owners they did run out some
drinks etc.
Some things in room didn't work.
Dripping taps!.
not a lot.
The hotel is run down and needing a refurbish inside and out. The smell of stale cooking oil completely covers the public rooms of the hotel. This is a very interesting old hotel but not sympathetically maintained.
