Good sized bath an bed, staff couldn't do enough to ensure we got a room even though that particular night the snow and weather was atrocious and every hotel in Belfast was booked out, we managed to make a booking online but when we got to the hotel my phone battery had died with our booking confirmation on it, their computers were down and they had no record of our booking whatsoever yet still fully accommodated us and did so even without having my credit on me, staff couldn't do enough and th.
all reviews » The staff were efficient and fairly friendly. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. Although the hotel is a bit out of the way from Belfast city centre, there are lots of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area if you don't mind a wee walk and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel entrance (although no Sunday service, unfortunately). The Balmoral is good value for money. I would definitely stay here again. From the moment we arrived we felt a homely atmosphere. When we had a minor problem we told a young receptionist the next morning, who was very kind and efficient. She introduced us to the hotel manageress, this lady went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. We will definitely be back to this lovely hotel. Everything about the hotel is exactly what you would expect of a three star hotel. From the easy parking to the quick and friendly check-in arrival is a breeze. On every occasion, at this hotel, I have never had a bad meal and breakfast is always to look forward to. I can't reccomend this hotel enough. The staff at the reception was exceptionally pleasant and courteous.The rooms were very comfortable and clean, with excellent interiors. Breakfast was delicious. We had a nice and peaceful stay. Best hotel we have stayed in uk. Worth every penny. The hotel is very well connect by public transport. The hotel was very clean & tidy & staff very helpful. Hope to stay again sometime. Thanks for everything. Our room seemed to have been recently updated, very spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was not the best for Belfast city break (you would have to drive into Belfast, not walkable). Price for the quality of room was very reasonable. Staff were pleasant, courteous in a homely jolly way. We ate in The Lady Anne grill bar, food and service was excellent and very reasonably priced. Even though they were busy with xmas parties they still offered a quick efficient service. Would definitely return. Excellent location for us staying for the Tennants Vital concert. We liked everything about your hotel as in previous occasions. The room was very clean and and anything that needed replenishing was done so for the next night. The young male serving us at dinner was very friendly and professional. Overall, the hotel was very homely and yet had high standard facilities. The receptionist - Feneuilla - ? spelling was fantastic. She had a wedding on at the time but still found time to be really helpful to us. You have to take the good with the bad. The Hotel was good. We did not have a problem with noise, but others we were with stayed closer to the ballroom and they could hear noise late into the night. If this may be a problem for you, request a room away from this area. We did not hear any noises on the other side of the building where our room was. There were no curtains, which we did not think would be an issue as blinds were there. However, we woke up very early and did not get much sleep due to the light. The curtains were put in for the next night without the staff being informed, which was appreciated. The pillows were quite hard too. The distance out of town was a bit of a drawback and the music from someones wedding was a little loud in the rooms - but hey, its someone's wedding, but I would not want to be in a nearer room than 38. The bathroom in our room (16).This was much in need of refurbishment. The fittings were worn out, the toilet seat was broken with no lid and the pan was not fastened to the floor. The over bath shower was cold and very lacking in pressure. The shower controls were old, worn and hard to use.The bath had a handle missing and no slip mat, and the bath plug simply had a piece of wire attached to use to pull it out. Also the food in the Grill bar was poor, not value for money with cheap ingredients. n/a. The only downside to our stay was that on booking we had asked for a double room and on arrival noticed we had been allocated a twin room which was a bit disappointing to say the least as it was meant to be a break away for my partner and I... Also, the room was very hot and had very little air circulation. It took us awhile to try get into out room for some reason, the card took awhile to respond.. The tea in the room wasn't great, and the drink was dear but a part from this we enjoyed our stay.. no wifi. room 16 shower mixer faulty, very stiff, constant leak, poor flow rate. Our room was above the function room where a wedding reception was taking place, it was a bit difficult to get to sleep with sound of music but it not bother us unduly. Room was slightly warm Wedding/events which were noisy into the early hours, on one night there was very loud chanting and singing from wedding guests until around 4am-5am (would have liked the hotel to tell them to keep the noise down as many guests had to shout out the windows telling them to be quiet). Unfortunately I could hear every sound from the room next door the TV the other guests conversation, I had an early flight and could not get to sleep.No soundproofing at all it was a great letdown. Nothing that I didn't like and I am surprised that previous guests have given bad reviews but then there is no pleasing some people. WiFi coverage was patchy. The shower in the room above us woke us at 7am and our own shower was not hot or powerful. Need to improve ordering of supplies. No kippers and nearly ran out of marmalade! Inadequate staffing on last morning. Poor waitress was struggling to cope. The stairs. If I had to find something.. Just the shower in the room was very difficult to get the temperature right but think it may have been broken. Leaving!. Trying to find it. The lady at the cafeteria was on a bad day. No staff visited/checked the corridor during the evening.. Nothing that we didn't like. upon arrival we were told one of our rooms had a burst pipe so therefor 2 of us had to share a room i did get a full refund but was very disappointed at the lack of another room for us, we were told we would get a bottle of champange but it never appeared. Could hear the tv in the next room blaring from 6am, prices for drink very expensive No pool or spa facilities. there was nothing to dilike. Nothing. We stayed at the weekend and it was a bit noisey. Other guests were making noise during the night. Some of the staff on reception couldve been a more helpfull. Nothing to say in this column everything was just perfect.... There was no lift to the bar area / restaurant that we could find so anyone not able to use stairs would have to go outside and enter the bar at the side door. Again with letsbookhotel.com when I booked it said breakfast was included and when I arrived at the hotel as is normal for letsbookhotel.com breakfast was not included. Hungover staff on reception on arrival discussing how hungover she was and she just wanted to go home to have a shower!!! Staff told us to get a taxi as she didn't want to look up bus details! Taxi was £7 bus was less than £2.
