It was my 1st time at the Crazy Bear and there's only 1 word to describe it: superb! From the friendly staff on arrival, to the gorgeous and romantic room, and to the best breakfast ever! There’s no faults with this place! The bar/ restaurant was stunning, decoration was mind blowing, and staff was extremely friendly and professional. Will definitely stay there again and next time, will stay for more than 1 night!.
all reviews » The hotel was greta, very different!. Decor, Staff, Food. The quirky decor. Decoration was luxurious! Room size too small for the money charged . Rooms should have a kettle - tea/ coffee etc.., their should be a mini bar . I have stayed in hotels a lot cheaper and less nice and they provide both of these things! That is my only criticism. Disabled access could be better - the hotel is not easy for a disabled person in. A wheelchair or on prosthetic legs to navigate around. Decor was certainly unusual. Views were good. Location was ideal. the bath was wonderful the bed comfortable. The flamboincy of it all. Can not think of anything! All very poor and not as advertised!. The rooms. Prices in the bar are extremely over-priced and they still charge you 12% service charge, which I think it’s too much if you are a guest at the hotel!. We were left waiting for a drink in the evening, we were asked if ewe had a reservation for dinner (which we had) but no-one explained what we should do - would we be collected or did we make our own way to the restaurant. Also, waited an unacceptably llong time for breakfast - although it wasn't particularly busy (at a cost of £19.50 per breakfast). Would prefer not to have had a wet room in "Townhouse 16". Room was too dark (only three low lighting lamps and one didn't work which should have been checked when you are paying suite prices). Room was cold (with a fire in it, the fire should have been put on beforehand). No mirror next to the hairdryer. Bathroom lighting too poor to apply make-up. Some small improvements needed. Oh - and beware the 'discretionary' service charge applied to everything. £6 service to walk a bottle of champagne 6 feet from the bar is excessive. Room was far too small. No aircon which would have been welcomed on the hottest day of the year so far. The room was very dark, there was nowhere to do makeup despite the room having 4 fancy chairs and 2 tables. The black towels left black fluff all over us. having the side of the bed against the wall was difficult and no bedside tables?. Staff looked down at you ... tryed booking in three times before room was ready caos ...a total shambles in reception ..over priced for town room you have to get the suit to spoil your self ...12.5% charge on a already expensive bar bill ..pay your own staff you charge enough .....!. Room was tiny, cramped, dirty and noisy. Hotel in need of refurb! Staff had poor attitude and rude!!! Used every excuse to charge for something!! Would not go back, very poor value!!!. That I wasn't told the swimming pool was out of use, and that was one of the only reason I booked it and the weather was nice very disappointed.
