The whole atmosphere and surroundings were great. Really enjoyed it. It was easy to get to with good links to the City, we actually walked in to Bath but it was a nice day and not in a rush. Public transport was nearby and local taxis were in abundance.My wife and I would not hesitate to go back again. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The older building was beautiful, and great to have all the facilities. My partner and I thought it was luxurious and great value for money and will be sad not to be able to afford to come when it is done up in all its glory.

This was a superb booking, breakfasts were brilliant as were the bar snacks on the evening we sampled them. Room excellent and well serviced. Overall a very nice hotel with good service. It is well positioned for a hotel on the outskirts of town with easy access to downtown. One of the best hotels we have stayed in, excellent service, spotless rooms and great food. The hotel accomodation does not pretend to be within the old building and the modern bedrooms are comfortable and warm. For the price, which is great value for Bath, you get comfort cleansiness and excellent location. Stains on the carpet and a rather erratic temperature fluctuations of the shower.Nothing. would be a long walk to bath city centre,but there is a good bus service which stops outside the hotel,so not really a problem.The hotel was quiet on the night we stayed but in the morning you could hear people opening/closing doors so I imagine on a busy night it would be noisy at times. Alittle too far from the city center but quite good bus service. jacuzzi water smelly. Lacking a fridge. Spa area in need of revamp. Slow to serve in coffee lounge. mattress uncomfortable. Using door knobs on swipe card doors is confusing. My partner hurt his hand when it got caught in the door as he tried to turn the knob but the door just pushed opened once the swipe card had been used. The king size bed was actually 2 singles pushed together which i didn't find comfortable. Other than that the room was very good.The room was far too hot and, even though asked twice, the staff did nothing to solve this issue. Other than the bed, the rest of the funiture in the room were of fairly poor quality. Also, although the hotel is discribed as in a Victorial House, the rooms are in a separate building with low healings, thin floors. Finally, the Hotel is at least 1.5 miles from the city center and uphill.As i was there on a business trip, over the weekend trying to get an earlier breakfast was almost impossible to negotiate.. It was a question of whether the chef was willing to get up earlier or not so i didnt push further as i did not want to be dissapointed with the ' lets hope for the best' attitude, so i had to go without breakfast on the 1st morning and rush breakfast the second. whilst the room was clean and tidy, some of the decor was a little tired round the edges e.g. scuffed skirtings, but these are minor faults. Sauna not switched on, phone in sauna not working, receptionist not able to provide walking maps until second day, favoured wine not available etc (points made in hotel response sheet). Shower kept going from very hot to very cold. Breakfast was disappointing after the high standard of the room.
