What people say
The town will remain in my mind as one of the sweetest places I saw in the UK. We loved Axbridge! This was a charming place and the lady who runs reservoir view was a very lovely person. We very much enjoyed meeting her dogs in particular as well as the goats and alpacas out the back! the bathroom was clean and the water pressure good, the towels fluffy and the beds comfy.
Pleasent rooms, not to big. and they have lovely friendly dogs. No frills nice clean comfy rooms and they run the local taxi firm. only stayed one night, was attending a wedding so didn't get to see much of the area. would go back.all reviews »
Good location for visiting Cheddar. Good value for money. Fairly basic but very clean and comfortable with everything you could need. Friendly owner and helpful guide book in the room. Would like to visit again.

Good location, value for money, friendly helpful owner, clean, comfortable. Short drive to Cheddar gorge and lovely tea room and pub short walk away.
Location. It was very close to Cheddar Gorge which we visited. The very pleasant family room which had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
Very comfortable bed, easily controlled room heating. tea and coffee facilities in the room all in the beautiful village of Axminster.
Really friendly staff and lovely clean, nicely done rooms. Easy access to axbridge, cheddar and many local pubs and amenities.
Spacious and comfortable room, clean and tidy. Covered storage available for cycles. Continental breakfast option only.
Comfortable beds with good linen, hot shower, friendly owners.

Everything was excellent from room, cleanliness, service, location. Would definitely recommend.
A great and very clean room with everything one could want. Really lovely place to stay.
Very impressed with the facilities. Very nice, clean etc. Hilton could learn something.
Room was clean and comfortable--owners were friendly.Local pub was very good.
Very obliging owner left room open for when we arrived while she was out.
Quiet and reasonably priced. Would stay again.
Great location, very good value, very clean.
peace and quiet, good layout comfy bed.
Comfortable room and friendly people.
everything.
Location is very good with almost of the places of interest being on the door step. I liked the "american motel" concept. Cost of stay was very reasonable. The two owners were friendly and helpful. The local pub "The Lamb" did some great food as did the Lao Thai restaurant in cheddar which is superb and well worth a visit.
Good Clean Rooms.
Size of the room was good. quiet location.
Clean but very basic.
The other guests who smoked( we don't!) sat right outside our window- at the table with the ashtray-to have cigarettes. The smell came straight in the window and when going in and out our door we would have to pass through a cloud of their smoke. this is not a deal breaker and I would stay here again but perhaps the smoking area could be moved to a different spot? PS there is actually no view, of the reservoir or anything else, but the hotel is still a great place to stay.
Only do continental breakfast not cooked.
nothing springs to mind.
Parking could be a little tricky but not a real problem.
Nothing.
Minor concerns only! The smoking area is right outside the rooms and, while the owners too great care not to smoke there when we were in, other guests might not. Also other guests used foul language when they got in in the evening and as they left for work in the mornings which was highly unpleasant. We know that the owners could not control this but it did detract from our stay a little.
nothing.
Nothing.
No full breakfast on offer.
Public transport is limited but available.
only minor thing was tv, was too small and to high for size of room.
Nothing.
nothing.
No breakfast ( there is a pre-bookable continental one) but I am a bacon sandwich sort of guy. The temperature in the room (No 6) was really unpleasantly hot and impossible to sleep in, although to be fair we did go during the recent hot spell and the room directly faces the sun. However, it was a real issue and does need a solution.
Just continental breakfast available.
Front of the property was decorated with dog droppings. The rear was a mess. Don't know where the reservoir view came from because there wasn't one.
Overpriced for very basic no frills. The other rooms were all occupied
by workmen who sat at a table directly outside our room to smoke and
talk. No local information in room. Very basic. The only information
given by who we presume was the owner was "The Lamb in the village
does good food". No view of a resevoir nor anything else!.
