Rooms well appointed & really comfortable. Late back from theatre but a phone through food order was taken & ready on arrival. Extensive continental breakfast available in the dining room. Very relaxed & plenty of choice from cold meats & fresh fruit to cereals . Lovely stay - would definitely return and recommend. all reviews »
I enjoy the the stay here as staff were very nice and very eager to help. My family enjoyed the food and the family room was spacious and bright and clean. Manager was very friendly and very much on the scene a lot rather than away in an office somewhere. would definitely stay there again.
Staff friendly. Lovely old pub. Room very comfortable and good bed. Creaky floors added to the charm. Could hear creaky floors from other room but quiet apart from that. Pleasantly surprised, ideally placed for dropping son of at RAF Halton. Have booked again for his graduation!.
This is a lovely place and the room we were given (Room 4) was spacious and comfortable.
The continental breakfast was a bit limited and there was no meat/cheese.
There were options that you could pay for that looked nice but the continental was enough for us.
The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. We liked the location and
the restaurant/bar. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Continental
breakfast with the option on sunday of cooked. The room was spacious as
was the bathroom.

The meal in the restaurant was very good - a good menu selection was offered for a small hotel and we ordered from the special menu which also meant it was excellent value for money (£20 for a 3 course meal).
From the arrival i was made to feel welcome, the room was large, clean and comfy, the atmosphere in the bar area was very relaxing and food and service in the restaurant was first class "thanks Becky".
We liked the spacious, comfortable room which was kept clean, the friendly, courteous and helpfull staff. The meals were very good.
The ambience made the whole weekend thoroughly enjoyable.
The bedrooms were large, airy and clean. Fresh towels daily. Very interesting building, with many rooms to eat and drink in - almost like a rabbit's warren. Evening meal was very good.
Having stayed at the Premium Inn on past visits but never again!! The Innkeper's Lodge was fantastic. When we ever come down from Scotland the Innkeeper's will be the only booking.
nicely decorated room that was spacious with a very comfortable sofa plenty of tea and coffee available and a good choice at breakfast time. Check out times were good also.
The hotel was set in a beautiful village location. Room had modern touches but regained elegant charm. Food was good value for money and the staff were very friendly.
The king size bed, the size of the room was ok the staff is really nice
and helpful. I would come back or recommend this hotel. It is a really
charming lodge.

we had large floor to ceiling windows on two walls and the room was very good value for money.
The room was good. The pub looked good but we arrived too late to enjoy it. There was a good selection for the continental breakfast.

Our room wasn't looked at while we were out as there were dirty
coffee cups left and no replacement coffee. On asking at the bar though,
the staff very promptly delivered replacements and took dirty cups away.

Continental Breakfast, there was a good choice but would have prefered "hot breakfast".
The beer, i do not like, no i hate, wishy washy citrus beers. Innis and Gunn was ok. i prefer dark heavy beers for example Tring Brewery 'Death or Glory' a fine example and only just down the road.
No menus on tables for a cooked breakfast in the morning, unless you asked for one. Reasonable continental breakfast, although meats should be efficiently covered to prevent flies getting on them.
Bed was rather hard and low. There was a lot of noise from downstairs doors banging, people shouting till 11.30pm which was annoying after an early start we were all very tired went to bed at 10pm but unable to sleep.
Pillows were a bit hard !.
As my room was above the pub it was a bit noisy at night.
The only thing I could pick at was as a lone female traveller I could have felt a little safer if the two large pation doors in the room had additional locks...seemed a little too easy for people to break into.
That it was only continental breakfast with the room would ofl liked full English.
If staying for dinner make sure you book a table so you won't miss out.

Very creaky floorboards. Understandable to an extent as it is an old building, but the creaking on one side of the room was excessive and very difficult to ignore.

The room was sold as a family room but was very noisy due to the bar below and music until gone 11.15 pm. Had to ask for the music to be turned off at 11.30 pm.
The walls seemed very thin. You could hear all in the next room.

The continental breakfast was standard fare, nothing special. The room (#6) while charming, was a bit of a challenge in the middle of the night when one is all sleepy and has to navigate up and down 4 steps to get to and from the toilet. (I do realize this is a very old building.) If you have issues with walking, you may want to consider another location as there are steep stairs to all rooms.
Food a bit on the pricey side. Menu doesnt change. Not many single rooms. Had to pay double room price for a single occupancy.
One of the lampshades wasn't straight. Not a massive deal, but i couldn't get a wink of sleep because of it.

whilst all the staff were pleasant none were great at customer service. we were often standing around waiting for someone to serve us while staff went past. the were reactive rather than proactive a small details but does make a big difference.
It was not clear that there was a cooked breakfast option. When we asked we were given a menu of items at additional cost. We were very disappointed with scrambled eggs but the manager dealt with this well.
lack of fruits (e.g bananas) in the continental breakfast. Cold atmosphere in the breakfast room i.e no warm greetings in the morning by the staff member.

stuffy room,2 ,, sofa bed very unconformable ,hurt my back , did not sleep because of it ,, breakfast is that what u call it ,,, could not open a window , was to high , if i needed to open a window it had to be the patio door , and with a child in was was not safe ,,so no i will NOT EVER go back , the price of meals , wow , could not believe the price of the food ,,over the top ,.
Room was so dusty that I could write in it.
Sofa bed for the children was broken - reported to staff and were told to prop it up with cushions!
'Family' room was situated directly above the restuarant and bar with music playing and noise until midnight. Children couldn't sleep so defeated the object of staying somewhere for a rest to break our journey.
Some aspects of the bathroom were in need of updating. Very little veggie options on the menu.
The mattress was not very comfortable; the springs could be felt. Not a very welcoming atmosphere.
