The Shower is fantastic room fine for solo traveller also liked the large tv. Bed very comfortable and desk allowed me to work. Free wifi a big plus and is one of the reasons apart from the fabulous shower that I always try and stay at this hotel when in Aberdeen. Fantastic in-room facilities! (everything you could possibly need and more!). Fantastic / friendly staff. Flexible / Great customer service. I arrived late for breakfast and they were very accommodating / switched the grill back on to cook us bacon!.
all reviews » The room was very nice, staff were helpful and pleasant, we also met the owner who bought us a drink and gave a small refund for the tv not working even though this was caused by stormy weather, nice touch though. Fabulous Eames suite beautifully furnished in Bauhaus principles....love the art and ambiance. Food was very tasty and enjoyable ...gr8 to have ice cold water in the fridge :)) Definately back!. The Bauhaus hotel is located just off Union St in Aberdeen. A perfect location for a city break hotel. It is a boutique hotel with stylish décor. Very comfortable. Aberdeen was a disappointment, we felt it looked run down and didn't reflect it's rich city status, I lived there years ago and it's certainly gone down hill. The only downside was that we took a suite at the fromt of the hotel, overlooking Union street, and it was just far too noisy during the night and difficult to sleep. I bought earplugs for my second night. I will stay at Bahaus again, as long as I am guaranteed a room that isn't on Union street (and to be fair, most aren't). Just pop a reminder of Reception on the phone :). lack of parking. We thought breakfast couldhave been better. I like fruit with breakfast and this was very limited. We did actually book for the 'bigger' room, but we got the normal size instead. The hotel is not large and therefore doesn't have leisure facilities. The reception in the foyer is also the bar but it is a comfortable place to meet and have a drink. Dining room gave the appearance of being low budget. Warm room but fan supplied. Not enough lifts. Nothing!. It was not possible to control the room temperature. The location meant that noise from late night revellers disturbed sleep - take ear plugs. The mattress was a little worn so I could feel the springs. I think this could be softened with an extra layer between the mattress and the bed sheets. Couldn't fault it. too many people standing about watching us at breakfast, felt a bit uncomfortable. Wi-fi connection was not stable. Kept going on and off every 2-3 minutes. No comment. This was my 2nd visit and this time my room was street facing and had a short spell of loud noise from students making their way home at 1-2am. Disturbed sleep is not good for a business traveller. TV was positioned in strange position if you wanted to watch in bed. Also shower didnt work very well (Fitzerald suite) Maybe a bit dark if you wanted to do some paperwork like I did. But minor details as im sure shower will get fixed. no air conditioning and windows didnt open. Strange position for TV in Fitzerald suite. Could do with some decent biscuits etc like you would expect in a nice hotel like this, instead of cheap and nasty ones. Room view. The rooms were very warm with only a fan for cooling - no A/C. The initial room had no windows that opened, however the staff were great and moved us to a room which had windows we could open which made a difference. The environment of the hotel on the street looked quiet dirty. Nothing to dislike. Noise from outside. Room options no upgrade facility. Hotel was lacking in atmosphere, it was pretty sterile. Noisey when pubs closing across the road. Very busy area at night outside hotel , however did not cause us a problem. Not much. Breakfast wasnt impressive. Only one lift, restraunt was closed while we were there and we were only told when we reached. Lack of parking, we had to pay an extra GBP12.00 at a local car park for over 15 hour stay. Nothing.
