The hotel really puts his guest always first: - Amenities and furnishings which were provided were very thoughtful and exceeded expectations when it comes to things, you may need when travelling - Amenities and towels were replaced even though we left "do not disturb" (staff left it simply at the door in an elegant package. Maybe it's only our experience, but other hotels we've been to wouldn't go that far. They would in best case scenario leave a note to ask for housekeeping if we want it or -.

The breakfast was excellent and the next morning the receptionist remembered who I was and asked how I had enjoyed the wedding I had been attending. The rooms were excellent and the standard of cleanliness and personal touches were excellent. I am in Aberdeen often and will definitely be staying again. I have always loved the restaurant and the manager is really friendly and personable without being i. I was visiting family and the location was excellent. The staff were always very friendly, the room always clean and the bed was very, very comfortable, I had to force myself to get up because it was always cosy :-) The heated towel rail was a bonus therefore definitely making the towels reusable. I was in the newer part so the floorboards didn't creak :-) and the breakfast was excellent. I didn't use any of the other facilities because I was visiting family but the lounge area off the breakfas. We always stay here when visiting family in Aberdeen. Pleasant location in the west end easily accessed. Beautiful Victorian building, warm comfortable modern room with excellent en suite. Large car park is a plus. Its a pleasant 20 minute walk to city centre or bus stop right outside if you prefer. Very generous helpings of good traditional Scottish food. Book for dinner as it's very popular with local residents. The Atholl's greatest asset is its staff. They are all friendly, helpful and very. Good service from the staff on arrival & assistance with carrying suitcases up stairs to the rooms, breakfast was excellent, and meals in the lounge were also very good. Location is handy to bus routes to city & it was a reasonable taxi fare from the airport. The family room was great and had good views . Just about everything, the last time I stayed in Aberdeen I stayed at a large upmarket chain just up the road. What a contrast, friendly staff, good food and clean comfortable rooms with a good shower, also location and plenty of parking make the Atholl the hotel of my choice when visiting Aberdeen in the future. The most proactive and helpful personnel I have even seen ! Amlost every day I left earlier than the breakfast starts, and everytime I was served by a continental breakfast at a fresh coffee, even at 3 am ! Comfortable, clean, cosy, internet is of a fair speed. We had an excellent room that was spacious and which had everything that we needed including a cable connection for free wi fi. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of the city, which was not too far from the centre and the car parking facilities are good. The door to the hallway wasn't soundproof, I could hear any conversations in the hallway very clearly, and it was quite noisy if a group of people were chatting together. My only other complaint is the timing for breakfast, during the week the finishing time is 9.30am and at the weekend 8.30 - 10.30am I think 10.00 during the week and 8.00 - 11.00 am wouldn't be unreasonable at the weekend. not much, two flights of stairs with no lift miht be a problem for some. Nothing. Is it quite far from the bus/train station (40-50 minutes walking). Althoug it may be accessed by bus#13 within 10-15 minutes. However, buses are only twice an hour. At little bit expensive. No fridge in the room. There was a small crack in the porcelain of the wash hand basin which we reported to the reception staff who made a note of it. I had the impression that this would be rectified. rooms are a bit dated no elevator (but we were on 2nd floor so not a big deal) no gym (but it does not seem that many hotels in Aberdeen have them). N/A. Nothing. Nothing really. I would always like a cheaper deal or offer. Nothing. Minor quibble.The bar is open all day on Saturdays but lunch stops at 2.30. Thanks to the lovely waitress we got a sandwich at 10 to 3, however other customers would have liked some food also. A small bar menu eg soup, sandwiches & rolls would be a winner. Inconsiderate guests returning to their rooms very late and extremely noisy!. We felt a little rushed on the Saturday evening when we dined in the restaurant, felt as if they wanted you fed and watered and out. Friday and Sunday evenings were fine. Maybe because they weren't as busy. Breakfast staff were not so helpful,had to wait 10min. Before asked if we would like coffee/tea and toast and that was after we had to draw one of the waitresses attention, only to be told in a minute ,other guests who had arrived after us had all been attented to.Very disapointing. Nothing really. Minor point but the cooking of the Chef's "Specials" this time round was not of the excellent standard enjoyed on previous stays. Nothing I didn't like. Having to climb up some stairs then down some stairs to get to my room. (but small price to pay for all the positives). The only thing I would say is that air-conditioning would be a bonus in the rooms and an area where you can get ice for water would also be welcome particularly in the summer when it can be warm inside a room. Nothing. I would go again. Nothing. It was a maze to find my room (24) Noises from nearby rooms was audible. Nothing. When we stayed last year you could sit and have coffee/drinks in small lounge which would have been a good place for our granddaughter to sit without being in the bar. These tables are now dining room tables!. nothing. nothing. Entering the hotel from the car park meant walking through the dining area. Nothing we didn't dislike. Nothing. Like most hotels in Aberdeen due to the market they are a bit overpriced. However this hotel is much better than others I have stayed in. We had no significant dislikes. Nothing really. bed was very hard. Nothing.
