The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, safe, and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. We had a private bathroom that looked all nice, new and clean, and had a large shower with good water pressure/a hand-held shower head. The typical Turkish breakfast was included and perfectly adequate for our needs. The location of the pension was perfect. It's walking distance to the water, the marina, some cute shops, the restaurants along the water, the castle, the bus station (otogar) -.
all reviews » This is a very nice pension off the main street, an easy 10-minute walk from the bus station. It's a quiet place, with a very helpful and pleasant staff. The room was lovely, with a view into a garden area, a television with satellite channels, a/c and heat, a very cozy bed, and a lovely bathroom with toiletries and loads of hot water. Breakfast was very nice: eggs, bread, veggies, meats and cheeses, cereal, tea and coffee. It's very close to the seaside, and the shops and restaurants. Hig. The room was neat and clean with a great shower. The breakfast was traditional Turkish and very good. The location of the hotel was great, just a short walk from the bus, close to the port and right near the shops and restaurants. Our room at the back was lovely and quiet despite its proximity to all these things. The owner/manager of the hotel was great, giving us fruit and always attending to our needs. Melis is in an excellent location yet very quiet. We were literally one block from throngs of tourists/ shoppers and a block from the water but didn't get bothered by noise. We used it as a layover on our way to Kos, a Greek Island. It is 1 block from ferry and 5 blocks from Bus. Excellent central location. Water in shower on morning not piping hot. Nothing. Cheese at breakfast. The room is quite small (double room) and the breakfast could be improved. It feels more like a hotel than a pension so I woould prefer it to business travelers. The lights are too red. My room had a window and when opened it was noisy from the busy streets down below but I guess that tells that the location is good :). The price is so high since the room is so small.
