I stayed here for 2 days in November 2013. The hotel was amazing value for money. I was given a free upgrade to a deluxe room. The cost for a king sized bed in a large modern (18 months or so old?) well equipped room excluding breakfast for up to 2 people was £44 (for 2 days). Being located next to on the main road it is well located. Cost by ‘van taxi’ into the centre is £1.40 (they ask for £2). all reviews » To me a very attractive hotel indeed – virtually brand new in its own grounds with outdoor pool and at night, a well lit up and attractive drive way. The hotel is located just off the main road which runs parallel to the sea ion Chaweng. Easy to get anywhere and if you fancy a half hour walk you can get to one of the two main bar areas around Soy Mango. The style of the hotel is slightly usual but very well done. Mainly white but splashes of color …. The name gives it away!! I paid £24 for a. When we arrived there after a long train trip through the night with 35 other passengers in a compartment, the staff were waiting for us with something cool to drink and all the paperwork already done. We just had to sign and off to the rooms we went. They also upgraded us to a suite since we were 3 staying in 1 room. This was really very nice. The extra breakfasts we wanted, was quickly booked and added to the bill. Greeted by a staff member who gladly took our bags We we upgraded as soon as we walked in The pool was massive and had plenty of sunbeds available. There was also a bar next to the pool for refreshments. The hotel is quite modern but have been notified that it was a refurbished hotel There was a free gym available for guests There was free wifi in the lobby even though the hotel charges for wifi. Everything at Verticolor was of a very high standard. From the staff, to the facilities, to the pool, bar, restaurant and location, everything was fantastic. We even recommended to several other people who then joined us later on in our trip and they were most impressed as well. Brilliant value for money, very comfortable, and just a great place to stay. The staff at this hotel are like Olympic champions...the best at what they do! I didn't feel like a 'room number', I felt like they knew me and the personal attention I was shown was absolutely amaizing! The rooms are spacious, clean and the hotel is situated close to the beaches and amenities yet quiet enough to relax. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!. The hotel excels in all aspects and is ideally located just off the main strip so you can escape the noise and hassles. The gym was perfect and the pool equally fabulous with a decent size. The free internet in the lobby works well. You pay for wifi in your room – a shame as every hotel on my trip provides this free. They should do the same. Add a £1 a night if necessary. I did not try the breakfast at £1.50 as it stopped at 10.00 am... I would like them to extend this to 11.00 a.m. The only criticism I had was that when I went to my room at about 2.15pm I discovered no towels. I asked for some and was told that the staff did not come back on until 5.00pm and I would get some then. No good enough. Renovations on the hotel were loud at times but nothing too much to worry about. The first rooms aircon wasnt working well but they were happy to change our room for us. Nothing. The pool area should stay open much later. After a long day, a guest might want to relax in the pool area sipping in a cocktail. Arrangement should be made to add chemicals or cleaning when it's much later. Wifi restricted to the lobby area. Wifi in room costs you money !. nothing all was good. Wi-Fi should be free also in rooms. You had to pay for wifi in rooms and pool area and free wifi in public areas never worked. The hotel is a bit far from the clubs district where the Green Mango is. The staff was friendly but made a few mix ups - once claiming we lost the key, although we left it at the reception, and waking us up twice for check-out, although we booked for another night the day before. You need to pay for internet in the room. Only in the lobby is free. You dont have a private beach, you need to walk five minutes and than pay 100 baht to have a sit. The breakfast is absolutely weak, poor and with a low quality level. I recommend the staff to improve it and the customer to book this hotel without the breakfast option. The surroundings of the hotel are ugly. The hotel staff were unpleasant to deal with and offered little to no assistance with any queries we had. Also we had to pay for our entire stay on arrival. A little bit far from the center. Pool was closed for maintenance, hallways were devoid of any decorations or plants. Its not like being in thailand I felt like I was in a hotel in manchester - its good for only a few days stay. Only possible to get 1 key Wifi not at room or for a rediculous price. - They provide only 1 key card per room even you stay 2 persons , if you need one more card it's thb 200 deposit ! ! !. Wifi work only in the lobby in 2013 its fuuny that guests need to pay for wifi at their room, the looby is full of poeple. Cleanliness needs improving. The corridors, balconies, lifts and public areas need more regular cleaning and polishing, removing ash trays and glasses etc. Breakfast is poor and food runs out fast. Not enough vegetable options for non meat eaters. A Thai dish e.g. noodles or stir fried rice would be nice. Breakfast area is small and gets noisy, crowded and stuffy --> air-con is not strong enough. Would be nice to have outdoor breakfast too. One man on reception was very rude, Ly. He told us that the boat off the island was full and quoted a very high price for it, when we got to the pier it was half empty. His attitude was terrible. The hotel has no soul. The pool made my fiancees face swell up. The internet was down almost our entire stay. The service in the cafe for dinner was appauling with no care or concern. Service could be improved and the food wasn't that great. Staff doesn't speak English well. Wi-Fi is only free in the lobby. The smell in the bathroom was disgusting, the drainage clearly is an issue! The breakfast was terrible!. Pool was closed due to renovation, area around the hotel is quite run down. Location is a downside: far from chaweng beach and from the town centre. Comparable accommodation is available for less money. No free wifi in rooms and poor connection in lobby. Lighting in room dark, no free wifi in room , no manager, staff did not enforce rules on noisy , untidy, rude other guests. Staff on the reception only, making the process difficult. The doors banging every minute. The noise was awful. Awful reception staff, from the min I walked I was made to feel unwelcome and at one stage considered leaving. Rooms were modern but not very clean, bathroom smelt horrible due to drains, had to put towels over sink holes whilst out to stop this problem!.
