Have stayed all over the world in high end hotels and I've never had such a friendly staff. My friends and I have not left the compound during the day because we enjoy being on the hotel's beaches and conversing with the staff. I only wish we had planned to stay here longer. The food is also incredible, it is truly on par with some of the better Hotel restaurants in the world...and a fraction of the cost. I know this all sounds too good to be true, but I'm in my room right now and felt compelle.
all reviews » We decided to treat ourselves to a 4 night stay at milky bay and we were not disappointed - mainly because we got a free upgrade to a studio suite so we really did get good value for our money! We got a free pick from the ferry port which was great, staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome, nice swimming pool, beach and restaurant (we loved the free breakfasts in the morning!). If you are in koh phangan for a full or half moon party the hotel organize taxi transfers there at a low cost. Service was fantastic. Knew english very good and everyone were so kind and nice. Restaurant of the hotel is very good. Amazing Pizzas. Very good location. They offer you scooters for rent with ease so if you want to get to Haad Rin or other beaches it's easy and fast. Nice beach, even though water is shallow... and free rides from thongsala pier. We will definitely come back. The staff at Milky Bay were so friendly. Especially Win, who works in the restaurant. We wanted to take him with us. The food is amazing in their onsite restaurant, and very reasonably priced. It was raining the whole time we were here, and it was still our favourite place we stayed in Thailand. Good location for half moon party aswel. Great value for money, highly recommend. The staff were so welcoming, especially Yu, May and Win. Win really makes staying here worthwhile with his happy nature that is gauranteed to make the grumpiest traveller smile. The resort is directly on the beach with a magnificent restaurant by the sea. We stayed in a 3 bed villa that was well worth the money. I will definitely return and recommend this hotel. Location was superb as it was situated between Thongsala (town) and Haadrin Beach (party central). Service was excellent, staff are attentive, polite and helpful. Facilities are adequate and rooms/bungalows adequate. I loved it so much after my first trip in June/July that I immediately booked a return trip for October that same year. Some of the bungalows look quite small and basic from the outside, I could recommend booking a delux twin/double at least if you require more space. No restaurants or bars in the local area - but shared taxis are widely available. Wi-fi signal was not good in the room. Shower pressure is very low.. Which is very normal to hotels in thailand but very depressing. bed can be softer. breakfast isn't a buffet so it doesn't fit everyone. Nothing. Lack of WIFI. The resort only provides wifi in the lobby and restaurant. But to be honest, there are loads of bars, cafes around who do provide free WIFI that this lack was not really a biggie. The bar should sell cigarettes so that people would never have to leave :). it's a bit far from the main town and Haad Rin beach (we were there for the full moon party - which the hotel was very prepared for...balloons, t-shirts for sale and taxi service for 200bht each - excellent really) so you need a scooter to get around. We wanted to stay longer but they were fully booked up, they found us another hotel to stay in and got us a taxi to the next hotel. Nothing, near perfect. Having to get a taxi each night to go out. It would be good to have beauty treatments available rather than having to go to Haad Rin. Tide was always out so couldnt swim on the beach but this was obviously out of the hands of Milky Bay!. No dislikes. This place is amazing!. We stayed in May in low tide season, so no swimming was possible.. Restaurant/bar overpriced, better to go and look around, there are a lot of nice bars in the area. Be ready to have small lizards in the bungalow, they are everywhere thanks to small 'jungle' around. Some ants and small dying flies in my bathroom. WiFi only available in bar area. Nothing else to complain about. On the letsbookhotel.com confirmation email it said free round trip transfer to Haad Rin pier but when we asked staff they said it was only to the other pier. Even when we showed them on the email they would not provide transport. After lots of waiting about and showing lots of people the email, we eventually got the transport. We were disappointed in how they handled the situation as it was clearly written on the email. Nothing !!. Internet only available in public areas. Accommodation was very cramped and the room was very dark, could not see contents of my suitcase very well. Room wasn't very secure . Door to studio was damaged and hard to open/close and lock . Meer sehr flach am Hotelstrand. No toilet inside,insects in rooms lizards in rooms smelly got food poisoning ended up in hospital.
