The hostel was pretty quiet even it was booked out; I can totally recommend the double rooms. The showers are always available, clean and there is also enough paper, which is not normal in a hostel. The bed was compfy and the whole building is kind of clean. The hostel is really close to an amazing park with public bike rentals and a supermarket is around the corner. I'm not a big hosteltraveller, but I totally loved it.
all reviews » Very new and clean. Staff is incredibly friendly. They let us use the computer behind reception to print a boarding pass. Location is decent as it is 2min walking distance to bus stop that runs direct to train station in 10-15 min ride. Kitchen is perfect, shared showers were clean and wonderful pressure and temp. The location is perfect with both tram and bus links within minutes of the place and as for places to eat & drink, you can't beat it with an excellent selection of both. The actual rooms are clean and the bathrooms are also very clean with powerful showers and the kitchen is fully fitted out. That it was possible to store our luggage in a room even though we weren't checked in yet, and after we checked out we could also leave it there. The kitchen was in a very good shape 24 hour service The staff was able to answer our questions, both about the hostel and the city. I can only recommend Slottskogen Hotel. It is excellent value for an hotel in this category. The staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are modern and the whole hotel is extremely clean. The area is also very agreable and really not far from the city centre. The staff was very welcoming and helpful when I needed directions or advice regarding my time in Goteborg. Their breakfast was really pleasant, too, with a good variety of food and a lot of vegetarian-friendly options. Nice and pleasant staff, clean and tidy room, close to town center. The heater in our room didn't work very well. Our twin room had bunks, I wasn't expecting this, but that might have just been that I didn't read the room description well enough. The kitchen was really good, but hardly any cutlery (we looked everywhere ending up having to spread butter onto toast with the back of a spoon! haha!) Minor thing I admit!. small room for 4 persons, nog space to put the luggage. The carpets were very dirty and old. the rooms were very small and they were bunkbeds. Shortage of clothes storage space. Lack of initial directions to hotel. Room size, was 10m2 like a prison cell. Never stayed in such a small room. - not really in the centre - small room without window - breakfast too expensive.
