1) We arrived late (around midnight) but this was not a problem for the staff who welcomed us and escorted us to our room. Gave us an envelope with the key inside, the entry code for the front door and the wireless internet password. 2) The hotel has excellent train connection to the city center (Stockholm central). The trains are frequent (10-15 minutes max between the trains). About trains, make sure you buy the free pass for 72 hours or 7 days as it provides very good value for the money. We.
all reviews » Location was great. Hotell Arstaberg is 2 stops away from Stockholm Central where you can change to the SL train lines. The Commuter Train from the nearby Arstaberg station (few steps away) can take you to Arlanda Airport direct in 30-40mins. No need to go back to Stockholm Central to get on the Arlanda Express as guided by the staff. Room was small, but nice and clean. Bedsheets changed and trash taken out daily. There's a common pantry where you can microwave your food, make hot drin. This is a great hotel for budget travelers. It's directly on the J-line, the commuter train line, so you can get there directly from the airport. It's also just two stops to Central Station, so it only takes ten minutes once you get on the train. The room was dark when you turned off the lights and we slept very well. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good clean hotel. The bathroom was modern and very clean. There was plenty of hot water, with a lovely shower head. The shared kitchen was really handy and allowed you to self-cater. This was a huge cost saving, because Sweden is quite expensive! It works as a budget hotel with a common kitchen where you can make your meals . the price and the room are ok, the staff is very helpful, not expensive by Stockholm standarts. I would give this place an excellent rating except for two items. First, breakfast is not provided. We were able to buy some food at a supermarket. The second item; its about a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the restaurants, which are all located in the town square. I wish the hotel (or letsbookhotel.com) provided information about which train station to use to access the hotel. I couldn't see which station to go to using Google maps. The other draw-back was that all activities, nightlife etc, required you to take the train. There were no such activities within walking distance. The reception is deep inside the building, so it can be hard to find it. They do not have a visible sign, at night is little difficult to find the correct door. internet connectivity (was just bad luck as the problem occurred during my stay but was resolved a day before I left). very hot in room. An improvement would be if the hotel could offer some sort of breakfast. Today you can´t even have a cup of coffee. The telephone communication system connected to the reception is awful. I arrived at the hotel in the morning. The door was shut. I rang the number provided on the door many times, but no one answered. I spent about 15 minutes trying to get into the hotel. Finally, I banged heavily on the door and then a person inside heard the sound and opened the door. It happened on the second day. This needs to be improved promptly. Other services are fine. No restaurants nearby. far away from the city, no shops around, no breakfast included. We booked a room with 2 separate beds - received a room with single bed, which is a problem in case you are travelling with colleague. On the other hand, problem was solved fast. Poorly maitained hotel.Not eventoothbrush glasses in the room noisy and thin walls between rooms.
