Very friendly staff. Always there to help you. The hotel allowed me to check in early at 10am without extra cost. Very decent place. Good food too. Enjoyed my stay there. I would stay there again next time. Well appointed rooms, and clean. The roof-top terrace/bar was delightful after a hot day sight-seeing, even though we didn't use the pool, which others said was an ideal temperature, if somewhat small.

Nothing to dislike here. Everything was ok. The breakfast was Sri Lankan and quite spicy but we were able to order eggs and bacon, which were OK but not something they did well. We had ordered a non-smoking room but got one with traces of smoke in the air. However they were fully booked and no doubt gave the newer rooms to delegated of the CHOGM. I liked everything. Not cheap.... Nothing. No complaints relative to price paid. We were in a room where there was a lot of noise coming from coonecting opening of tray lift from the kitchen to the floor where the room was. restaurant. the room was not what I reserved I was requested king bed while they give me twin, the WI-FI not working and when there was load they cut it from cuts and give others while it was clear free WI-FI on the reservation, the room was in different building with long walk distance and from elevator to elevator need to be reviewed. A lot of chilli/pepper in almost every food. Nothing. old wing run down. Television sets are old Wifi speed is quite slow. I couldn't smoke in my room, even though I had requested to give me smoking room. dirty floor in the room. no handtowels in the washroom. there s 2 wings and if you want to be in the good one, they will charge you an extra. Nothing to add. The rooms are across the road from the reception, and the swimming pool is down the road and can be reached only by leaving the comfort of the hotel. The food in the restaurant (in the hotel) needs much improvement, both for taste and choice of dishes. The room cleaning service has to improve. The buffet breakfast has to also improve. The waiters need to be taught how to be polite with customers. The room rate is too high, and our room wasn't clean enough (mainly the floor). Ask for a room in the main building, these rooms are much better, and more quiet. Our room was next to the elevator, therefore we had to use an earplug, for sleeping - walls seems like to made from paper...The design is also better in the main building. Not isolated windows. Hard to sleep. Its right next to the main road. The prohibitive taxes of 37% in addition to the room rates. No hotel information literature - you had to contact reception for everything. No SPA or massage service in the hotel. ac was hot,. too complicated directions inside the hotel, double bed room had only one set of towel and we had to request for one more set and remind as well. noisy staff noisy hotel room mattress uncomfortable breakfast not good for europeans room smelled of smoke. Food varaiety, specially for Arabs and Muslims. the staff lack of english, the room was very small and the buffet breakfast was the worse.. 4stars? Maybe in main building. We stayed in building on the lef side and 3 stars would be ok. Unfortunatelly hotel is the middle of nowhere. Worest hotel ever because of the Receptionist. WiFi connection very poor, Room insulation need to improve. Rooms are overated and pictures of the site are much better than real life Frontdesk kinda rude Hotel Grand City is much better for similar price. Location was to run down. Better location is other cities to the north. better prices and better beach front away from colombo. Stay out of colombo as much as you can. The of the worst foriegn city I've been to. i came at 8 am and they charged for 4 hours a whole day poor service in the reciption no idea about customer service and very expensive doesnt worth 100 dollars per night i think should be 60 and the room too small. The Telephone operator is most notorious and disconnects all incoming calls from India after receiving them for a second (so that there is deduction from otherside) or connecting to wrong rooms. Complients to desk-staff on three consecutive days did not work. . Expensive not value for the money. room was very small and old.
