all reviews » The staff were all really friendly. They helped me with currency conversion, numerous taxi bookings and when I asked for a room with a good view they certainly delivered. My flight did not leave until 1am and after a whole day shopping I was rather flustered. So, the hotel staff sorted me out with toiletries, towels, a place to shower, access to the pool to cool off and looked after my bags. The customer service from the staff is one of the best I have experienced. The location is good (if you decide to stay at Sentosa; just 1 min walk from Imbiah Station). Free wi-fi connection in room with strong signal. The room is clean and tidy with an excellent coffee machine. One more point for the considerate concierge service. When we asked for the location of taking Sentosa Shuttle Bus to Shangri-la Hotel for a buffet dinner, a male staff gave us a free ride by a hotel van; otherwise we would be late for the dinner. Thank you. This facility exceeded our expectations. The location was great. There is a 4 stop monorail which goes to the beach in one direction and the harbor/metro connection in the other way. We purchased. A rail pass and were able to get everywhere, incliuding the $1.92 trip. From the hotel to the airport! The little apartment had everything, even A. Soaking tub.a wonderful thing after hiking through china town and little India (Diwali. Festival). I rate this a+. Facilities are great in the hotel, felt cosy and modern, smelt so nice in the lobby everytime we walked in, very friendly/accomodating staff (tremendous help from concierge for recommended activities and bookings). The check in by a Korean staff member was excellent, I've forgotten her name but she was wonderful.The bathrooms are really large and the bed very comfortable. The Nespresso machine was a joy and the internet was excellent. Good location on sentosa island, good transport links both around the island and to the city centre. 5 minute walk to universal studios and the resort world complex. We didn't eat at the hotel but menu looked varied and reasonably priced. First of all we got an up-grade for our stay and would like to thank the management for it. The room was very clean, spacious and we felt very comfortable during our stay. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful if you want to have something organized. The hotel was better than I had expected when I booked. More impressive than it appears from viewing on the web. For the two rooms on the third floor, the shower area - the slope of the floor is insufficient to allow water to flow into drain hole. Instead, the water flows out of the shower area leaving a very wet floor just outside the shower and toilet areas and a soaking wet floor rug. This happened in both rooms. For the handicap-friendly room, the bathroom door kept malfunctioning. Also, the bed was too high for a wheel-chair bound elderly person to be able to get on to. It seemed pretty expensive for what was offered. It was the fourth hotel I have stayed in in Singapore and I have gotten much more for an equal price previously. The bed (twin bed room) is a bit small. The toilet door is transparent (no privacy). We stayed for 3 nights but the housekeeper did not refill the bathing kit and thus we needed to make request to front desk for refill every night. Comb and shaving kit would only be provided upon request. There weren't any convenient electrical outlets for my computer et al. I had to rig the wires across the room which resulted in my laptop crashing to the floor and maybe destroyed. I am not blaming moevenpik for my clumsiness. I didn't like that breakfast was not included ($25 each extra). But we are always prepared and along with the mini fridge did just fine!. Room service was ok, sloppy cleaning of bathroom and floors in the room, but after talking to reception they had someone come and clean it again. Our stand up shower leaked water into the bathroom which made the floors wet all time, but friends next door didn't have that problem. - In general very happy with stay, there were ants on leftover cake the following morning but I accept that since it is on the old (but renovated!) wing, it may be hard to totally eradicate it. None. Location is not the best if you want to explore Singapore. I chose to stay in this hotel for a "staycation", knowing very well that I won't be leaving sentosa. It is a bit on the expensive side, but it is definitely worth the money. The hotel's reception does not have a direct lift to the rooms wing. Initially they booked us into a room with no bath. Apparently one of the few suites that don't have one. When I rang to ask to move the Singaporean receptionist sounded irritated and annoyed by my request and told me the hotel was at capacity and not to expect anything. Luckily the lady who checked us in rang me and dealt with it with utmost politeness and no hassles. Nothing.Everything was perfect. Everything was perfect, 7 days of bliss!. nothing.. The Delux King Room is 2-joint-Single which is not expected. (super minus: C-). The Bathroom does not have an exhaust outlet; after toilet-break the whole room smelt bad throughout the night. So an Ionizer was sent to us after feedback to housekeeping dept. (rate: D-). Wifi was very expensive. Actually nothing. It's on Sentosa Island and if you are not shy to get to the MRT, city hot spots are easily reachable. If you take a taxi than it becomes costly. The Breakfast charging at $25 are expensive. The pillows were either too soft or too solid for my neck and they did not have any others to offer. I went and bought a s$6 one from Giant at Vivocity and had a good nights sleep. Also although they advertised in their hotel facilities guide that reception sold stamps they did not. Upon arrival we were given a coupon for a free ice cream which we thought was great. When we decided to use coupon, we were given a cup with literally a spoonful of chocolate ice cream. We felt really cheated. Movenpick is missing an opportunity here. But that's our only complaint. The bath tub was not very clean; gave us rashes after a soak. The bath rug was stained too. The housekeepers blocked the corridors with all their things lying everywhere. The car park attendant did not offer to help us with the lugguage. Nothing actually. Walking distance from all the theme parks but extra charge if you call taxi. Also, only two restaurants there and room services are expansive. Room overlooked the pool which could be a little noisy as there were many families with young children staying there. Pool was small with not enough seating for the size of the hotel. no kiddies pool. quite a hassle to go around the hotel with a stroller due to the many steps and stairs. nothing. Housekeeping quality is poor and sloppy. Also the bathroom sink was choked and the service repair man did not do a good job resulting us having to ask them back again. Another annoying thing is that the housekeeping staff like to knock on the doors for early clean up. But when we put up the do not disturb sign on which we subsequently asked for the room to be clean, no one came!. Room didnt have and iron for our clothes. - internet wifi not free. Although the bedroom was quiet overnight, some of the guests arriving for the Easter break in the rooms adjacent to us were very noisy. I did have a quiet word with them however, and they did respect my request for less noise. Nothing,all was perfect. A crowd at break1st, hostess took down our contact for notification but we were not being notify after 30mins. Reason: not organised, needed further training. Cold eggs at breakfast. I would also suggest a more welcoming bar might be a good idea for sundowners- the existing bar didn't really appeal. High restaurant prices for food that was not special. 1. Room service. there is no ramp to go up and i have to use the main road entrance and carry my baby stroller. Although we love the stylish decor around the hotel, we felt that the hotel room was a bit too plain and boring. Also, we were disappointed with the room size. The hotel should inform guests in advance about the complimentary free access to Sentosa island if we have a reservation. We informed that there were three people in the room, however, the house keeping staff didn't replanish towel and amenities for three people on the second day. They should do automatically without letting us tell them. No toothbrush and toothpaste provided at first, but was given when asked for. Housekeeping let the hotel down, although once we asked for something to be rectified, shower flooding, lack of towels, remotes not working, they were in immediately to fix the problem, but just a few too many problems for a five night stay. Lack of English speaking staff was a bit difficult this hotel seems to cater for the Japanese and Chinese market. Pedistrian access from monorail could be improved. Currently favours vehicle access but once you have garaged the car most activities on the island are via the monorail or on foot.
