I liked reseptionist who advised us site etovidel.net about sights of St. Pet, expressed interest, found time for talking to us. Our double room was large, with high ceiling, sofa opposite to beds which help to have a chat. Located so near to Nevskiy and Moskovskiy railway station. Had a lovely stay here. The hostel is no frills but has everything you would need and is right in the centre of town ( 2min walk to Nevsky Prospekt and Moskovsky Railway Station.

The hostel is comfortwise impeccable.The staff is very kind, they let us leave our luggages with them after we checked out until our train departure time. It has a lack of something like that. The hostel is about 3 km from the Ermitage. The staff is really nice but do not speak any word of english. So, at our arrival, the hotel's entrance was closed with a note in cyrilic stuck on the door. Hopefully, somebody in the street translate the note and called the hostel for us. Not possible to get breakfast. no noise after 11. - lot of noise inside & outside - towel was either not clean or very old. No tv in the room. The walls aren't soundproof. Beware - nobody speaks english there (so it's kind of funny when you need something - body language and basic russian skills are very handy). They charge 400 RUB extra for mandatory registration. Wifi is not so good (does not work at times, especially in the evening "peak" hours). Ensuite rooms (with bathroom) have only one double bed (no twins). The hostel has 3 different entrances at 2 different levels, but nobody told it to us, so we had to discover by ourselves that they were more bathrooms available. Very small room(about 7 m²): just two single beds, a small table, no cupboard or whatsoever (we had a room without bathroom). Wifi connection is not working or very slow for most time in 5 days. Water heater is broken occasionally. Hostel mixed up our rooms: should be double rooms, but only twin rooms left for us. Walls are so thin that you can hear everything that is going on in the corridor and reception. The fridge in our room did not work and smelled bad. Bedclothes are old, not very clean and have holes. OK to stay here for one night, no more. only one lady at the reception speaks English; kitchen is everytime busy; strict rules; no double beds; fail taxi service - called a taxi driver to get a ride, he said that's okay, he never arrived and as a result we were late for our bus. Thin doors, thus very noisy. Bathrooms are not very clean, so you have got a feeling that you live at the railway station. Staff did not speak English very good. Kitchen was a bit small but ok. There are 2 Hostel with the same name on the same square!!! No real kitchen. They don't speak English, and they didn't want to call me a taxi , I had to manage the taxi at 3 am in the morning by myself. They were cleaning all the time but it seems like there were bedbugs or something. The only thing bothered me was the stuff can barely speak English. We spent much longer time in checking in, and also got misunderstand on the payment. carpet smell, room size, comfort. I couldn't get in for 15 min. There was No one to open the door. I couldn't use the shower. It was too complecated and there was nobody to show me. No sound proof. The housekeeper turned the vacuum cleaner on at 09 a.m.
