I loved the generosity and welcoming attitude of the family. It means a lot when traveling to such a new environment. The hotel had all of the accomodations one could ask for with a comfortable atmosphere and extremely unique garden/decorating scheme. The location was perfect. It was easy to catch a marshutka to the lake but get away at the end of the day for relaxation. We ate breakfast there every day and it was a good spread with a little bit of everything one could want. I highly reco.
all reviews » Really liked the staff. The family who owns the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. Make you want to come back to their hotel. The location is breathtaking, just by the lake Baikal. My room was very cosy - just keep in mind, this is a real "house in a village" experience, don't expect a city hotel facilities. Very nice location in a small village near Lake Baikal. Also very nice Hotel with a beautiful garden and terrace in the middle of nature. At the same time easy to reach with regular public bus line connecting Irkutsk and Listvjanka (stop Nikola). What a find! We loved the room, we loved the price, we love the BANYA! The surroundings were peaceful and the owners were friendly. We stayed here for 4 days as part of a 3 week trip along the trans Siberian railway and it was wonderful. The staff are great, in particular Anastasia, who speaks good English. Breakfast is also very good. The rooms and atmosphere at Hotel Nikola are great - it's setting in the small village is beautiful and relaxing. the staff here were wonderful and kind. the location is great giving us a taste of real siberia. the hotel has lovely gardens to relax in and a restaurant serving great food. A homely stay in a peaceful area. Igor, Olga and Anastasia were welcoming and helpful, ferrying us to Listvyanka and Irkutsk. We enjoyed good meals. It was a quirky and lovely hotel in a beautiful location. It was about 4 miles from Listvyanka but taxis were cheap and easy to get hold of. nice, very cosy, clean, friendly staff. nice terrace. good and cheap restaurant. the friendly, helpful folks who run the hotel. It was not as expensive as other hotels in the area. They have a beautiful garden and a terrace where you can relax (with WiFi). I didn't like the fact that I only stayed for two nights!. Hotel Nikola is 7km away from Listyvanka. If you have no car (as we didn't) this means you will have to walk for about 90 minutes each way to get into Listvyanka. The walk along the roadside is not very pleasant and takes a lot of time out of your day. The free wifi was very unreliable and did not always work in our room. Internet didn't work in our room!!!. the unscheduled mini bus service near the hotel. No breakfast. A bit pricey for what you get :/.
