The room was beautifully presented and the staff were helpful and friendly. I've stayed there before and will continue to stay there on all my trips to Christchurch. It's a little more expensive than other motels but well worth the extra cash for the added luxury!. During our stay the Motel was being looked after by Relief Managers Kaylene and Nick usually at The Moorings in Wanaka. They were extremely friendly and helpful to ensure our needs were met.
all reviews » Had a very late arrival and they worked with us to gain access to our room - very much appreciated! Best shower - lots of power. Had a fan in the room which we used. Hotel is spacious, new (or newly refurbished?), and well maintained. The spa bath is great, beds are comfortable. Cooking utensils are quite complete and clean. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the facilities superb. The hosts could have been more friendly. The cleaning staff were nice though,. Enjoyed everything about the Salerno, the spa bath was wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. Would highly recommend. Friendly Staff High Quality Honesty & made contact with us when we left something behind. The lady at the reception was so helpful and gave all kind of information you need. Staff were accommodating, and friendly. Rooms were outstanding. Modern, clean, comfortable with good parking. Friendly staff. Nice modern claen units, friendly service. Baloney outside room, storage. Very clean and modern. It was great. Location. none. Parking was a little awkward and the main road was very noisey (but not something that can be helped when the motel is located on the main road). Situated in Bealey Avenue which is a very main street, but when sliding doors to room were closed we could hardly hear any traffic or sirens. The location used to be prime at the edge of CBD but I guess because of the earthquake in 2010?, the key "busy areas" has moved toward the other end of the city/suburban. Nothing. Bit of road noise at night- busy main road. Limited choice of restaurants nearby - Thai takeaway very close and Indian about 600 metres. No Ipod port Cleaning staff only got half way through cleaing as we returned and didn't restock some minor items. Road noise is much but to be expected as the to be so central. the gold cushion :). Traffic noise. washing machine /dryer combo was useless for drying clothes should be melted down for scrap owner was helpfull though for a solution dont try and dry your clothes in this pile of s---. Hot water run out Only one hot chocolate sachet Though for 200 a night service and facilities would have been better, but disappointed for my first married night. the staff was too cold and cool.
