  First of all , I would like to make a special notice about Mohammed the manager. I had booked a 2 night stay at Merzouga camp and to my surprise I received an email from him informing me that due to the hot weather (June) it would be better if we stayed only for a day in the dunes and could spend the other day at his house in Hassi Labiad which is... what people say » a small village at the gates of Sahara.I Always appreciate honest people and this was a hint of how nice our stay would be. After a 7 hour drive from - We enjoyed every last detail of our trip. Our guides were incredibly helpful, very kind and patient with our children. We arrived in the midst of a late night sand/rainstorm and yet Mohammed still came out to guide us back to our room. We were invited into their homes, fed like kings, catered too and truly felt not only at ease but also safe. We had been a bit worried traveling to Morocco with only woman and children, but the staff was very kind and we never felt a bit of unease while visiting

  I had a great time at Riad d'Or. It was exactly the type of accommodation I was looking for: one representing the legendary Moroccan hospitality. They would go up from the reception till the roof - Tthe “Superior Quadruple Room” (the Pacha room if you are looking at the riad’s website) easily accommodated two married couples (one double bed and two twin beds that the staff had pushed together) in somewhat separated/private areas. The room also had a comfortable couch on which a short person or child could sleep.   Beautiful hotel. Helpful staff. Excellent location very near Medina, but not in the midst of the ruckus. - It's a new riad and very pretty and unique inside. It's worth to stay there for the experience. It's right next to the medina (old town). All staff were very friendly.
