Mahkota Hotel is always our choice whenever we make a trip to Malacca. It is a very family friendly hotel and we like it very much. However, the hotel should put more effort to upkeep the rooms and some of the staff are not so friendly but if your are lucky enough, you will be entertained by those staff who are so friendly and customer oriented. Food and facilities are good. The check in staff were very friendly and helpfull. The location of the hotel is excellent with only a short walk to the main attractions of Melaka. The grounds and facilities of the hotel were great , my kids loved the pool with the water slides.
all reviews » Our room was very comfy and clean. The hotel staff and even the cleaner was very helpful and warm. One of the reception counter staf mr andrew attended me and my family very warm and helpfull. staff are very helpful n concern.. after check in while waiting for my husband park our car I just walk around at lobby and 1 staff come to me ask whether I have a problem to find my room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location. Right at the heart of Malacca. Most places of interest were within walking distance. Lots of dining and shopping areas nearby. It was quite a comfortable stay for 2 nights, my granddaughter enjoyed the pool thought it was a bit too crowded, supposed it was the school holiday. The location is strategic because I just have to walk out 5mins to get everything that I need. I love the room that simple but elegant. My family and me choosen Mahkota Melaka as mostly convinient with near shopping center and pools for kids to play safely. Near to the shopping mall. Sport activities facilities like mini golf, table tennis, children playground room and gym. The place is clean and comfortable to stay.....especially within vicinity of shopping centres and eating places. The location, facilities and accommodation are all very inviting. It made our stay pleasant and convenient. Due to I night I don't explore much but the short sting here will meka me to come again. It's a good hotel. Location is great...short driving distance to a lot of eating place I wan to go..opposite shopping ctrs. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The buffet dinner and buffet breakfast were excellent!. Helpful staff, great swimming pool, and very good location with big shopping malls nearby. My children love the swimming pool and the conveniance location for food and pasar malam. The room was clean and well maintained. While the hotel looks very nice from the outside and the grounds etc are impressive, the rooms are very old and dated, our room even had a lovely iron scorch mark in the carpet . me n my husband cannot enter the pool because we only wear tshirt n track bottom..we do understand rules to wear a proper swimming suit but having experience with other 4 star hotel most of them do have tolerate on this rules nowdays. The apartments were a little run down. They can improved on the cleanliness of the washroom and the overall outlook of the apartment. Cleanliness I rated as fair as the room is a bit dusty.The friendliness of front desk. Seems like they have to attend to me and I knew that I've made last minute booking and I'm not sure if they don't have enough room to sell and occupancy is super high, but at least they need to show some friendliness to the new guest. None. Mini golf should have the base change as it worn out. Need to keep the area clean at the outdoor foot reflec. Wifi is not free. A fee of rm10.00 is charged for a device. I don't mind if is rm10.00 but it must be extended to more than one device. Hotel do need some refurbishment though...but still ok with e price I pay. We were disappointed that the pool in front of our rooms was closed most of the time that we were there for no apparent reason. There was another pool open at the other end of the property for a little while, but this seems like a big waste: to have the pool there and not be able to use it. Nothing. Second time stay in Mahkota and requested Chinese news paper during booking and check-in, but still get English paper for the first day. Reminded the front desk, and at least this time they sent some local staff which was friendly and polite. My request was immediately look into and it was OK for the next two day. However, they still sent me STAR for the last day. Not knowing why, if it is policy, then, it is polite to call and acknowledge. Still lacking the personal touch. Pressure of the water very slow. Need to use water dipper. Suggestion to build bridge between hotel to mahkota parade shopping centre. The price booked through letsbookhotel.com not so attractive. I paid almost RM200 per night. There is a busy main road to cross outside to reach the shops. when I booked ,I , thought ,I was ,booked inclusive breakfast , but when I came to hotel , no breakfast inclusive , very disappointed , pricewise , a little to much. Water presure is low. I stayed on the 5th floor. The bath tub water strength was weak. Ask for the maintainence guy for help. He told me reason due to my room is on the high floor, low pressure. I find this answer stupid. But there is nothing I could do. So am I supposed to take low floor like 2nd level in future?. Timming of the swimming pool is bad they close it at 10:00 pm I think they should open it at least till 11 pm. unhygienic carpet floor,cockroach found. We check in late at 3.30pm but room is still not ready. No free wifi, while hotel was quite expensive for Malaysia. Low water pressure for shower and no pedestrian bridge/underpass for us pedestrian to get to the other side of the busy highway from the hotel to the shopping centre. No microwave oven. The bathroom water pressure is very low. no breakfast included. Cannot swimming with t-shirt in the swimming pool. Having to pay for the Wifi. Stain on pillow cases. A family of five could not accomodate with the current two bedroom. The previous premier room which has been reconstruct is the best, that is the reason why i came back. But since, the premier room has been demolished, the chances of coming back to this hotel is very low. water preasure in the bathroom is still low,should had done something based on prev complaints.. Swimming pool at the hibiscus block was dirty. Water pressure from that hotel is very slow difficult to take a shower. One room aircond not in good condition. 1)Check-in queue 2)Understaff (bell boy) 3)Time for pool activity (should open early ie 8 am. 4)Need to check the sensor for automated sliding door at main entrance. There is no warming equipment for food for those who stay more than 2 days. Could not cook in the apartment.
