Melaka Hotels

We spend a weekend night at Renaissance Melaka booked an early bird package for two interconnected rooms. Booking was perfect processed incl. the extra wishes for internceonnected rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful even that the hotel was fully booked that night. Check in was fast and even though we had arrived before noon we were given one of the two rooms instantly and the second an hour later. The rooms are very clean, I cannot share the negative feedback w.r.t damp rooms etc. I had - Alan

Is really a good hotel and comfortable. I will definitely come back for this hotel next time and not the other one starting with "M". Good location to shopping areas, cafe inside the hotel.. Before staying at this hotel we were told by friends that it was too far away from attractions in Melaka but it was really only a 15 minute walk to Jonker Street and the area was quite safe. The rooms were clean although a bit out-dated in style and shabby. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was decent. I would stay here again, no problem. - Mr

I booked this hotel over the internet based on reviews and well, the budget that we had. Expected a really small room for triple but imagine my surprise when the room was big and spacious even with one double and one single in it. I'm not sure if it's me, but I find the single bed hard. Maybe I'm not accustomed to it but it gives me the backaches. Stayed in their Deluxe room and comes complete with jacuzzi and rain shower. Room decor was excellent and homely with built in kitchenette where I could heat food for my young children and do a little light cooking. Location ideal, not traped in the weekend traffic jams that seems to last the entire day. Within walking distance to historical sites. Will definately return for future stays. - Julie

Well I was a bit skeptical before checking into the hotel due to its outwardly gloomy looks, but i was pleasantly surprised inside. We checked in at 10:00 a.m at night and got a superior room for RM 115 only (no breakfast, even better so can sleep longer). The front desk staff was very helpful. He allowed us to check the room before checking in and we approved by looking at the room as it was definitely value for money we were paying. We were in Malacca during the Singapore National Day and had not made any reservation for a hotel. To our dismay, all 4 & 5 star hotels that we walked into were fully booked. Even more shocking was that even the small and hidden hotels in the nooks and corners of Malacca were fully booked. Tired and not wanting to search anymore, we stopped at Pizza Hut located opposite Renaissance Hotel to have some coffee. Nice and clean room. Will be better if all the rooms have windows. Bathroom is great. The jockey who managed the parking bay was so well-mannered and excellent. Highly recommended for its value for money. Thumbs up to Fenix Inn. Keep up the good works !!! - Margaret

By far the best food and ambience in town. One of the few truly classic hotels in SE Asia. If budget is not a problem, dine here and stay here. A middle option is to dine here and stay somewhere cheaper (eg. the Holiday Inn). Hotel is about 500-1000 metres north of the main sights in town. If this is too far for you to walk, take a taxi or trishaw, both of which are very cheap. - Kirsty
