The owner was very friendly and most helpful in every respect even telephoning a reservation for us in an excellent restaurant in the town. Our young daughter was accommodated in a seperate bed and without charge. And, the garden was wonderful to sit out in over breakfast which was really tasty. Overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives

We stayed for four nights at Pulkvedis in a clean double-bed room and our stay was memorable due to the kindness and hospitality of Juris and Anita. There is also a large garden and Sauna. There is a fine walk along the Venta riverbank only five minutes' walk from the guesthouse.

Best of all was nice cafe with wide assortiment of pizas as well as normal menu of other meals.

We had a very warm welcome. The room was light and spotless. There were nice little touches like free tea and coffee, little pieces of amber left as a welcome gift. A shame we were only there for one night as it looked like they would have been happy to organise trips to explore the area. -
