The staff and ability to give directions to the hotel. One of theprevious comments regarding the place was that it didnt have fire escaperoutes or was difficult to find. We found the hotel was close toeverything. Unfortunately we missed out on the trip to the Murano glassfactory, which the hotel organises for free for their guests. But allround this was a beautiful hotel, very happy :). Hotel Corte dei Greci is a charming spot in the quiet heart of Venice, just a few minutes walk from the bubbling over, overwhelming S.Marco square. As it was recently refurbished the room was very neat, almost shining. The furniture is well chosen and above all brand new. It's like getting in a private home. I stronlgy advise it.

It should offer a wider range and more quantity. The lack of emergency signs was worrying, in fact we had difficulty finding our way downstairs from the 2nd floor on the first morning! The exterior of the hotel is covered in graffiti and currently has no name plaque. Neither issue affected our stay.The breakfast did not have fresh fruits.In the high season the rooms are much more expensive and I would feel ripped off with this kind of breakfast. IHowever in the low season, it was a good value for money all in all. Maybe just a bit small dining room but this is probably due to the lack of space on the ground floor as this is a renovated old castello/palace.Hard to find, but this is Venice! Everything here is hard to find.... a kettle in the room would have been nice especially as it was a january visit.The hotel had just opened. Some service not on line. They sent us out to a pub on the corner for breakfast. The hotel was quite difficult to find. There is no sign outside the hotel.The breakfast could be better. Mine consisted of a piece of brad, coffee and jam. There was nothing else to choose from. That Italian hotels (in general) keep on charging for wireless Internet access irritates me. In that respect Corte Dei Greci was like everybody else, not worse, not better. Still it is irritating.There is no lift and it is not convenient for old and disable people. The breakfast room was very small. Rooms at the front could be quite noisy early in the morning when deliveries were being made.Breakfest. Nothing to complaint.The room was a bit cold and the heater was noisy. There was a double bed and a Z bed for 3 single adults!. The hotel was a little difficult to find,but everything is difficult tofind.thegirl on the desk gave me instructions on the phone twice todirect me and she was even at the door looking for me an d mywife,calling my name. possibly a few more rolls or choice at breakfast but no big deal. The hotel was very dificult to find as there was no sign directly outside the hotle. This could be improved very easily.no smoking. The hotel advertises satellite TV, but apart from the conventional Italian stations no others were available. The staff produced excuses hardly believable. Two non-functioning lights were not fixed during our 5 day stay (repair requested on arrival).Difficult to find Hotel, no outside sign with hotels name. Bit pricey but then so is Venice in general. Some fruit with breakfast would go a long way.

Travelling information

From Venice Santa Lucia Station and Piazzale Roma: Take water bus line 41 or 51, direction S.Zaccaria (every ten minutes). Get off at S.Zaccaria, go over the bridge on your right then turn left and pass through the San Zaccaria underpass (between Hotel Savoia & Jolanda and Hotel Paganelli). Go to the end of Campo San Zaccaria, turn left and you will find yourselves with Campo San Provolo on your right. Go through the underpass and proceed along the edge of Canal Osmarin for approximately 60 metres. The hotel will be on your right.
