Casa delMelograno is a beautiful hotel in true Venetian style. It has a wonderful little garden which they serve breakfast in daily. Air conditioned room’ s with showers and everything you need to make your stay perfect! There is wifi access both in your room and out in the garden which is extremely convenient. all reviews » I picked this place because it had a backyard where you are served your breakfast's and you can just sit out their after a full day of walking! Our room was on the main floor, which we were next to the canal. It was a great location to walking to every where. The Casino was very close, lots of restaurants and shopping. The room was comfortable and very large bathroom with a tub and shower and glass enclosure. Service is excellant. Marco gave us wonderful tips on eating (we are foodies) and locals spots away from the typical touristy areas. This included price and food style. Hotel is extremely close to water bus stop. Private Garden a lovely spot and they opened to breakfast on nice days. Don't expect your typical buffet for breakfast. Croissant, fruit and yogurt (Coffee and OJ) gets you on your way!. This is our second stay at this hotel; we thoroughly enjoyed it the first time round and it was our first choice when we returned to Venice. Friendly owners and staff, great value, excellent location and a gorgeous garden to have breakfast in. What more could you ask for?. Very good location near railway station and vaporeto San Marcuola. Didn't know we were very close to the main canal and to one of the main stopping points for the canal water busses. They run until 11:00 pm so people are constantly walking by the room and making a lot of noise when we are trying to sleep. The windows do have bars on them so you feel safe, but noisy until the water taxi's or busses stop. No screens on the windows let the mosquitos in and my wife is allergic to those suckers...thankfully she was not bit, however I lost a little sleep battling them overnight!. Nothing to dislike!. We arrived at 9 am, but get the keys at 2pm only. When check out at 8am next day, nobody was on reception, maybe everybody were sleeping, but it it is no problem, they charged the fee later from the credit card. Nothing - I understand some of the rooms in main hotel were not so quiet especially on ground floor. The room was close to the reception desk and hotel entrance so it was a bit noisy. The air conditioning was broken on the first day so didn't get much sleep as it was boiling hot. Its was soon fixed though. We liked everything!!. We didn't have hot water the first day and when we informed the front desk he did not seem concerned at all. They need a sign to show their location proper especially who use waterbus to reach to hotel. Breakfast is a bit poor need to be more diversity. Only complaint was that the bed side lamps did not work. Internet is extremely slow and kept dropping the connection. Check-in times are a bit inconvenient if you arrive late at night. We were at apartment near the hotel and there were no cleaning there during our stay (4 days). But it didn't bother us a lot. Not a big thing, but they could have done more with the space of the large room; the room had one comfy chair (also a small table and two kitchen chairs), but there was enough space for two. I would suggest to have a smaller TV and add another chair and maybe a desk. Mosquito is big problem for all Venice. There should be nets on the windows. Unfortunately, there were not. We have been a few times in this hotel and we were always satisfied. We stayed now for 2 nights and we had no warm water in our shower, I hope the next time when we come back there the problem is fixed. Shower didn't have too much pressure, but it was enough. We had to wait 1 hour for the room, the breakfast is served quite late (8.30) and the checkout is too early too (11.00) however we have been allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel. Location seemed a little bit dangerous. Room was cold. Bath supplements was not satisfactory. The heater. Air conditioner was out of order. Nothing. The breakfast is so so, no ham, no any meat, but the others is good. Bath supplies were poor and not refilled after the first day. Room was very poorly furnished tiny bathroom breakfast left much to be desired. in a very lonely and small street, not easy to find the hotel. no lifts. the breakfast is bad. price to big for this standard...but it is normal in Venice... The sofà/bed was very uncomfortable. - air condition wasn't working - bathroom was smelly - ventilation was bad. Although there are windows, you can't open them because of the mosquitoes - we wouldn't come back again. That's generally how we judge places. Smelly rooms Unhelpful Staff and not smiley.
