We stayed at Domus Carmelitana on the last 2 days of our stay in Italy. It was an oasis in hot and hectic Rome. The pleasant staff speaks English and was very helpful in helping us get to where we wished to go. They ordered a taxi for an early morning trip to the airport and secured a price for us lower than what I had been told it would be. The facilities were spotlessly clean and pleasant. Very calm, quiet & safe place; good contry yard, beautiful roof terrace, reasonable Rome map and espr. Spacious room with large en suite bathroom. Very clean and well maintained. Beds comfortable. Small fridge was useful. Delightful roof garden with colourful bougainvilleas and potted palms. Has a nice view of the dome of St. Peter's. Location to Vatican for a Catholic was great. As an Aussie Lawyer who travels frequently to Asia India and the Middle East , Europe really needs to catchup this problem is all to familiar . Breakfast: coffee and warm dishes could be better standard. That there were lots of hairs of the pre occupant in the shower. Very basic and charmless rooms. No wifi, bed breakfast.
