The location is very good, the hotel is in the heart of the city. There are comfortable specious rooms with simple equipment, a common kitchen and dining area. The tidy bathroom has separate entrance, but it's only few steps from the rooms. The staff is very kind and helpful. We got free maps and useful information about the city. all reviews » I had no idea when I booked this place that it was an old baron's palazzo! The reception has frescoes, gold leaf and antique furniture all in the baroque style. The rooms are tastefully decorated too, with tiled floors and beautiful furniture. My room also had a balcony facing Via Etnea. It is remarkably well situated, mere minutes away by foot from everything of interest. In addition, the gentleman who runs the place is SO nice! If you stay here, be sure to follow his restaurant recommendation. The hostel is in the center of Catania next to a church, so that you don't hear the noise of the streets at night. My room was huge, prettily and comfortably furnished, with a private bathroom outside. Everything was always clean. Carlo and his wife are extremely nice, helpful and professional. They gave me a lot of helpful information about Catania and Sicily in general and about places to see and things to do. If I come back to Catania, I will not even think about another place to stay. Absol. We stayed there the first night we arrived and the last night and we were speachless. We loved the design of the building and BIG rooms we had.It is in the very center of Catania, quiet side street with private parking in front.We enjoyed breakfast in the near Bar.Internet worked perfectly.I can say only GOOD things and we sure will love to come back again. This was a great budget b&b/upmarket hostel. Rooms were basic but well furnished and charming. We had a separate but private bathroom that was well appointed. Staff were very friendly and gave us complimentary after dinner drinks one evening and vouchers for breakfast at a nearby cafe. The location in the centre of Catania is perfect. My only criticism of this hotel is that it was difficult to organise parking. There's a nearby parking garage but the person at the front desk had a hard time identifying the street name and location to me (in Italian). This is something they should simply know by rote. Nothing!. Historic building,many steps are not to convenient,but it can't stop the satisfaction!. Breakfast was very limited (one coffee and crosissant/brioche only) -- did not match the high overall standards of this exceptional place. It was ok for me, but maybe not for elderly people who have to carry their luggage a few stairs by them selves - not a problem for young ones. Bathroom while private, was down the hall. Nothing at all. Can hear noises from the street if Windows are not closed. I hit my head on the ceiling quite hard because it was a bit too low for my 2 meter frame. The rooms are indeed beautiful, but their sheer size makes it impossible to catch mosquitos (leading to one sleepless night). Nothing at all. Nothing. Bath room is out of the room. Well, for me I never mind :). Breakfast is one cruasan and coffee. There is a main road close to the hotel and the traffic noise was pretty intrusive for most of the night. I could not get the Wi-Fi to work also. weird cardboard room doors, you can hear everything from and into the rooms. bathroom far from the room, can't see tv screen from the bed due to the big iron side tables, very noisy streets around the building in the night as well as during the whole day.
