The room was excellent and they had a very good odea to give name ofmusicians to the rooms The marvelous bathroom is certainly a plus, andstaff was very friendly in helping about train information, etc,and theview from the room is magnificent. The extemely friendly manner with which we were greeted and the great atmosphere of the hotel and its facitilities. The host was most gracious and helpful with any questions and we found his suggestions to be more than worthwhile.
all reviews » This was a wonderful place to stay. Our room had a beautiful view of the Umbrian countryside and had a terrific view of the stars. I highly recommend it. The position of the hotel was excellent being in the middle of Assissi. We could walk to anywhere. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.The warmth of the owner/hostess. The cleanliness of the hotel and the fantastic breakfast. There is nothing that I would change. central (if u'r by train, take the bus up. The hotel is plum in the centre of Assisi, in a pedestrian street, but easily accessible by car. We definitely recommend it!. The owner and her staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no onsite parking because Assisi on the side of a hill, therefore repack bag into an overnight bag and carry up the hill - this is really no worry as we expected to do this.I believe there were no non-Italian programs on television sets inrooms. Accessible only by stairs, up or down depending on where you start from. Would be tough (impossible?) for anyone handicapped or who has a hard time walking. Bed was hard, but that is no different from any other I have slept in in Italy.The access is not so easy cause of many stairs outside the hotel. The hotel is up a flight of stairs - so persons carrying lots of luggageor who have walking difficulties should be aware of this. I'm not sureif they could have cable or not, but there were only Italian stations ontv - I love settling back to English language news before sleeping - nota big deal, but cable tv is nice.Rooms are small. Felt more like a bed and breakfast then a hotel. Breakfast consists of fruit, croissant, and roll (would have liked more of a selection). Our room had roof valcony, but it was little bit dirty to use and relux.No decaffeinated proper coffee - only instant. Room was small.Rather poor breakfast. The air conditioning could not be regulated through the controls in theroom ~ seemed to be centrally controlled, sometimes it would have beennice to be able to turn it down. But this did not affect our stay whichwas excellent. air conditioning was noisy. Air conditioning was out of service, awaiting an mechanic. bed was hard. The room, while very clean and attractive, was very small. As there are no public areas in the hotel, this means that when you are in the hotel, you are pretty well restricted to your room. It would be a real squeeze for two people. If you were staying for only a couple of nights, this would be OK, but for longer stays, it's a bit restrictive.The air conditioning did not work on our first day. The staff was very apologetic. It was repaired towards evening of the second day, but even when it did work, it was very weak. Fortunately the manager gave us a fan. The room was very small. car parking was quite some distance away. Some English TV or news would have been useful.Paying extra for a suite which had the noise of the aircon centralunit in the room next door all night. Description gave misleadingimpression of size of room and views which were only accessible bygoing on to verandah.
