What people say
Peter the owner was a lovely man, very helpful and just an all round
nice man. The hotel is in a great location on the sea front,
restaurants, pubs, casinos and amusements are all within a minutes walk
and the aquarium is around the corner. There are other more expensive
hotels in the area but if your looking for somewere clean, cheap and
basic just to put your head down this place is ideal. I will definitely
be going back the next time i'm in galway even if its just too see
the lovely australi. all reviews »
We enjoyed Peter and his staff - they made us very welcome! The room
was very clean and the location directly across the street from the
beach and the Prom. Taxis were available right outside the door for
our trip into Galway (a bit too far for us to walk - many other people
were able to walk it though). There is a lively, friendly bar right
next to the hotel lobby and many good places to eat and see within a
1- 2 block radius. Nice proximity to downtown Galway. We enjoyed our
stay very much.
We were a group of 6 girls and boys. The rooms were spotless, location is excellent. The hotel was very quiet at night given that it is over a pub. Peter really looked after us, he was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. He is a great laugh too and we had good craic with him. Would highly recommend, it is very good value for money too.
Great Hotel! The owners are very nice and accommodating, willing to give you great suggestions on things to do in Galway and the surrounding areas. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Good location, near beach and close to city.clean, staff very helpful and
friendly.great pub below hotel.not noisy.taxi to city 5 euro'S.good
bus service[401].
Peter and Barbara were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size for the 4 of us. The location was great-across the street from Galway Bay.
Owners were so polite & did everything to make us ( 2 adults 3 children 5, 3 & 10 months ) as comfortable as possible.
Great Location, Owner Aussie Pete was very friendly and couldnt have
been more helpful.
Friendliness and helpfulness of Peter and his wife.
The owners were very nice and friendly.
Excellent host and clean, tidy room.
Nice location if weather is nice.
Friendly staff, great location.
Great location, very friendly.
Friendly and helpful staff.
everything.
the shower.
Peter the owner is an excellent host and all the various places that he recommended were super even down to what to order from menus .So hats off to you Peter we had a great time with Galway been so close and everything for us couldn't have worked out better.
Good Location, very close to the beach! Also few very good pubs around,
the best O'connor!.
location & cost.
it was right in the heart of salthill
so you are walking distance from everything, and there are taxis and buses to take you the short trip into galway city.
There were a lot of stairs and no lift so my knees were complaining a
bit - but the staff helped us with our bags. No air conditioning and the
street out front was noisy in the morning with our window left open due
to the heat wave - but they did provide us a fan which was quite
helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
The walk to city center is about 20 minutes so I would recommend taking a 6 euro taxi ride into town. There are a line of taxi's waiting directly outside the hotel! Makes it very easy.
A lot of steps...but at least it's good exercise.
The Hotel doesnt serve food though Lohans across the road does a great
breakfast at a reasonable price. Also there are no tea or coffee
facilities in the room though owner Pete will get you them if u ask.
Bed was very soft.
Not having food.
no bath.
VERY small room.
What can you not say about Irish weather at this stage. But we got on got out and laughed at it.
Very pushy and nosy front-desk staff(I suppose he is the owner of the
place) I got the impression that didn't trust my friend and myself
as costumers,, I think he thought we would leave without paying.
this is not like a hotel
there is no breakfast, the rooms are very plane,
no tea or coffee in room, and no room service
so very disappionted in my stay,we left a day early, and still had to pay the full price,,this place should not have the word hotel, above it,because its not,,never again.
Family room for two adults and two children was in attic. Mold in shower. Despite advertised Wi-Fi in room, no Wi-Fi. Front desk ("Pete") was very unpleasant to deal with. We checked out early and booked elsewhere. A very bad experience. Would not recommend unless one is desperate and all other places are booked. Avoid.
Everything.
