Myself and my husband had a wonderful night in this hotel. Upon entering the hotel we got friendly helpful staff. We got a fabulous room with a view. Amazing location, right beside the sea/pier with amazing views. Restaurant had a great buzz about it (though, we didn't eat there) Lovely little garden outside hotel, where we had a few drinks and looked out to the sea. Breakfast nothing spectacular, but grand. Very enjoyable hotel.
all reviews » The hotel is quaint and pleasant, the setting spectacular with veiws along the waterfront and bay. The bath was modern and the room clean. The staff was very good. The attached restaurant, Oliveto, is a must. The food is very good and the wait staff excellent. I have visited Dublin three times in the past four years and am always certain to dine at Oliveto. Kingston is one of my all-time favourites, mainly because of the outlook from the seaview rooms which would always be a priority when I stay there. Staff are helpful and friendly and apart from the thoughtless guest who smoked and caused the fire alarm to go off at 3am, my stay was idyllic. - Quite place facing the sea. - Close the Dun Loaghaire center with stores. - Direct access to Dublin center with the DART (DART station +-200m only), it takes 20 min to get in the center for only 2.80€, cheapest than a taxi. - Hôtel Restaurant is very good and prices are OK. Location was perfect along with the views of the sea,staff where friendly and overall presentation of the hotel,decor,layout etc was to a high standard Great value for money Will definitely stay here again!. This hotel is tucked behind houses and is quite difficult to find as the signs for hotel were small and badly placed on road. The water temperature was difficult to regulate on the shower. Staff at reception would not accept cash payment in sterling my parents were told - "this is a different country" Barman was rather grumpy and not very accomadating at times. Reception was a bit sparse, this could be made a little more friendly. The hotel is older and walking the wonky narrow halls made it feel a little dingy. The rooms were decent, but the bathrooms need attention as each has tile issues. my room lights shutting during my shower. lack of instruction for us Americans on how to operate things. lack of hospitality of some desk staff. Shower head too high & unable to adjust the direction of the spray. I didn't like the food menu.thought it was very expensive, and the breakfast menu too expensive. we ate out all the time during our stay because of this. Found the shower was tepid, at 9.30/10pm which was disappointing. Had a very long wait in the restaurant to have a quick plate of food - preference seemed to be given to people walking in off street rather than hotel guests and the option of room service was a non-starter with a charge of e4.50 added to any order. The hotel was great I was staying there as I had a family party.. only disappointing things were we wer unable to use the bar as there some sort of function on and were unable to eat food there for this I think there should have been some !. not very accessible steps up to the entrance with a suitcase was a proplem. Room cluttered. the restaurant part was very confusing as it is owned by a different company. The breakfast was expensive for what was available. We did not eat there at night.but the staff were lovely. Parking facilities are limited. Hot water wasn't always available. There was no television and the bar was very cold. Only one chair in double room. Never enough milk / sugar provided by housekeeping, always had to search for. Room cleaning was not thorough during stay, although overall hotel was clean. Breakfast a bit poor for money (e.g. no croissants/pain au choc, only fruit was grapefruit). One of the staff on reception could have been friendlier and more helpful but others were great. Difficult to say as the hotel was in process of refurbishment. Better tea/coffee, biscuits would have been welcome!. over looking delivery entrance. Limited parking, although we were lucky. the different floors within a floor. Lack of non restaurant seating in bar area. Hotel bar and restaurant had been reserved for a wedding on the evening and we were unable to use these facilities or garden area. Had not been informed of this on booking. They have to fix the door into the bar as every time it opens it makes a large bang whick puts the fear of God into anybody within earshot. No remote for the tv. Hotel is old with creaky floors, especially when your close to the stairs!.
