We stayed at the Charleville Lodge the night before we flew out. The Hotel was convenient to both downtown and the airport. It was clean and conformable. Breakfast was very good. It was close to the centre and we felt very comfortable there.Very friendly and helpful staff - displayed real commitment to welcoming us and making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Room excellent - clean, comfortable, well furnished. Breakfast excellent. Great Value for Money. Well located ( to get to and from by car) -short bus ride ( frequent buses from outside front door) to City centre. Good parking. We would be very happy to use this hotel again. all reviews »
Lovely accommodation, friendly staff, private parking, excellent location in relation to Mater Hospital and city centre.Easy to get to. plenty of car parking, pc with internet access in lobby, efficient staff. Lovely breakfast, nice reception and clean room. Comfortable, friendly, very relaxing and very clean hotel. Idealsituation for an "out of town" hotel as bus stop right outside. It has a private car park and was within walking distance to Mater Private Hospital and city centre. The hotel is very very clean, breakfast is excellent and the staff is frindly and helpful. It is convenient for my head office, has good parking and is good value for money.Close to Croke Park - good value - very comfortable bed - friendly staff. No remote control for television and limited tv stations.Distance to all attractions, smell in the corridor, you can hear everyone walking pass your door. Need stronger lighting in the rooms. The hotel is far away from restaurants, the northside museums, and airport. We thought it would be closer to at least some of those. Breakfast could be better - more variety for those who do not appreciate 'the big fry-up'. Less wonderful was the squeaky old bed - much too soft. Room needs double glazing next to N Circular Rd. Needs more shelf space next to the wash-basin in the splendid Bathroom for our own toiletries. Dining room staff a bit clueless due to poor English but very polite and eager to please. Slightly out of the city, so a bus ride was needed (right on the bus route and fairly frequent though). But you probably wouldn't find the same quietness and pleasantness in a closer-to-town hotel. Cosy duvet, but too hot at night, although there was a fan.The bathroom is in great need of repair and cleaniness. This hotel is a little far from the city center...but there are bussesthat run all the time down there.Would prefer WIFI in at least the public area. took about 30 minutes to walk into city centre. A bar would have been good as a meeting point as the nearest pub was about ten minutes away, also I was under the impression that the hotel was fifteen minutes away from the city centre but it was more like half an hour by foot tho the transport is very good in Dublin the road are very busy. they should have available a self-service continental breakfast with ham, cheese, etc.The area is a little rough outside of the hotel. did not think the room was up to looks of the price we paid. Dont turn up before 13:00 you will get a rude "go away and come backlater" response (we arrived at about 12:25). hot water in shower was alittle strange, only way to make it run hot was to turn on sink and bathhot taps too !! Area is a little dodgy, there for 2 days and on both wasoffered to buy obviously stolen laptops from out of passing by cars...But nothing worse than that. It was in refurbishement and I was not told about that. It is stated that the hotel is a 4 star hotel but to be honest it doesn't feel like one. It's was a good hotel though.There was some mold on the bathroom ceiling and around the window. fire alarm at 6 o'clock in the morning, ridiculous!!! It takes at least 20 mins by bus to go city center. I was told only 10 mins walking!!!. Think it was a bit overpriced but maybe this was because we stayed there during the rugby finals. Our room was downstairs and they appeared to be using this area for storage of old furniture, cleaning equipment etc. Made the place look messy. They should just pay a bit more attention to detail such as this. Expect better quality for the price charged. It is starting to look a bit in need of refurbishment. The hotel was pretty far from the town centre and being unfamiliar with Dublin it was difficult to follow the directions that were given since the street names change every block or so. It would have been helpful if a car was available to pick up travelers at the train station since it was easy to get there but very difficult to find the correct streets to pick up the local bus service. They always put the prices up for any good game at Croke Park. I have already booked elsewhere for hurling final. The hotel is sparse no facilities, no meals except breakfast? Room and bathroom in need of decoration and cleaning,. it was incredibly over-priced for what it was. we booked 3 days, but we did not get hot shower for 2 days. we got only cold shower. And hotel staff could not fix it. Not hygienic with broadloom and a dirty bathroom.room very small and not very clean.
