If you look at the hotel pricing in Mumbai, Sun n Sand has depending the value still a good rate of about 100 Euro which is ok. Lokation at Juhu Beach is good, approx 20 minutes depending daytime from airport. Breakfast is ok and the restaurants to have some lunch or dinner are quiet good. Sun n Sand is one of the oldest 5* hotels in Mumbai, littele old charme, but not negativ. Rooms and bath room are clean, bed is good, rooms are sparcious. People on front desk are friendly. Check in and check.
all reviews » The pool area is really relaxing , nice views of the beach while sunbathing , you have immediate access from the hotel to the beach.Breakfast was really good and wifi reaches the pool area with good connection.Small gym but has everything you need for a workout in the morning. Rooms clean and spacious but certainly not 5 star rooms.The hotel staff really friendly and helpful. Supermarkets , some bars and restaurants in easy walking distance from hotel. Perfect spot for relaxing and if you want . The location is fantastic. The 24 hr Aqua restaurant is quite amazing with fantastic views of the beach. I was particularly impressed with the staff who were extremely helpful and efficient and always had a smile on their face, especially Ms Chryselle and Ms Mamata, thank you very much. Stayed there twice . Would never stay anywhere else in North Mumbai . It is cosy and yet luxurious . Small and yet with a big welcome . Great for a solo traveller . Great swimming pool and pool area . Great view of the beach . Charming personnel . Spacious room. Was upgraded to Executive room which was good. The friendly atmosphere, the re-location of the sun lunges in the swimming pool area (from earlier times) where a hedge made it more private from the rest of the hotel. Good room (sea facing) and good service. Nice breakfast. The breakfast was awesome and served with a lot of love by the staff. A very special mention must be made for 'Masala Omelletes' .... they are simply superb. The hotel is highly reputed and famous too. Only one thing - I wish there had been overhead fans in the room, so one could choose to switch off the AC and use the fan . Slightly jaded room appearance but well maintained. The bar was good for a business meeting over a bottle of wine, but the kabab and barbeque set was disappointing. Needs improvement in the quality of food served with proper kababs and not made up recipes, heavily spiced which proved to be "not at all enjoyable". The pathetic quality of staff in the 'House keeping' simply ruins your stay ... unfortunately they happen to be the face of the hotel and something must be done by the management to curb this gang - who could go to any length to extort cash from the residents in the name of TIPS. I asked for non smoking room, but was not available, so the smell on the smoking room was very uncofnortable. Too busy staff to address individual concerns and a bit more copy-book style functioning, less proactive due to easy business flow. Room size could have been little more bigger. i had a medical problem in which i cant eat gluten products and spicy food. inspite of sending them a prior mail, i didnt get much options for eating. they were not ready to make food according to me. even 3 star hotels do it,but they didnt. quality of food. Touted as a 5 star but not on par with other 5 star hotels in Mumbai. Reception staff not knowledgeable. Could not even sort out transfers to airport correctly. Concierge was not able to help with basics like restaurant booking at Trishna. Has a serious management problem. Staff have no clue what they are doing. Were giving out wrong information. Some staff claimed the airport transfer was free others told us is chargeble, similarly with break fast and extrabed. Staff are not very clear about their hotel policies. Small Lobby, old structure. Hotel wanted to block amount on credit card inspite of giving you no. of card if they wanted to check the card. also lower rates were available. Room was not good for Value, More expensive for Food & Drink. Food is really poor. Staff service is also not appropriate.
