  This pension was fabulous! The facility is beautiful, impeccably clean, in a wonderful setting and with a friendly helpful staff. The restaurant was wonderful. We ate on the terrace under a trellis of grape vines. Prices are a bargain- our dinner wine and shared dessert for three 36 euros. Oh - The size of our 2 person suite was great and we were pleased that there was a small kitchenette in the room, this was half separated from the bedroom which is handy with little ones. We had a decent sized private outside area off our room that would have been lovely if the weather was warm enough! The hotel is situated right next to the valley which is perfect for wine tasting.

  It was the best hotel in the city-right on the main square with a view of the castle on one side and the cathedral on the other. The staff were friendly and accomodating. There were two restaurants, one more formal and the other very comfortalbe and casual. If you use your gps to guide you there, you will feel that you are certainly lost. The hills are steep and the streets are very narrow. As you turn on to a little side street, the property gate becomes apparent. Once inside, the property reveals itself as a beautiful oasis. Every kind of colorful blossom fills the palate.   I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Ferienhaus Apartmanház Zalánki in Eger, Hungary. Eger, a city of 57, 000 people, abounds with historical and natural attractions. The host is a charming gentleman who speaks perfect English and serves you wine from his own vineyard which is very good. Apt has everything you could need and lots of room. I hated to leave and would love to return.

  The lady who runs the place is very friendly and speaks a bit of German, which helps if you don't know Hungarian. The house is located in 15 minutes of walking to the city center in a very quiet and green neighborhood. There is a place to park the car, too. And a tasty breakfast!
