Very nice hostel, quiet and has no-shoes policy, so you got to put slippers on to be able to walk inside the hostel (which is fine with me as I don't wear shoes at home either). Rooms are very warm, and since I'm used to lower temperatures I had to open windows a few times to get some cool air in... Around 15-20 minute walk to the city centre at my pace. Plenty of public transport around - metro stop just 1 min walk from the hostel (Octagon) and trams are in front of the building too. Perfect .
all reviews » -Excellent location. -Clean, big, and new room. -The blankets and pillows smell very good and clean. -Big windows in the room. -Two shared toilets which are big and clean. I saw the housemaid did very good job. Even a hair she saw on the ground, she picked it up! -We stayed friends hostel for 5 days, they helped us to wash clothes for free. And cleaned and hanged it in our room. Thank you so much. -The receptionist helped us everyday, he booked the caving tour, sold the reservation spa tickets,. We were really surprisef cause we booked a deluxe double room, imagining that it would be a big room with a toilet. But it was not. We had our own apartment with a living room, kitchen, toilet with a bath tub and, of course, a sleeping room. It was incredible. The staff was very nice and friendly, location was excelent, internet was good and very cheap for an apartment. I would recommend and I would stay there again for sure if I go to budapest. almost anything is reachable on foot from the hostel. we never used public transport (we love walking, though=). kitchen is very well equipped: fridge, microwave, oven, toaster, sandwich-maker. plenty of food for free. towel, hair-dryer, iron, flip-flops, notebook with internet, x-box and tv for free. cheap printing service. very well working heating. Everything was very clean, the staff fantastic and very friendly. The room that we stayed in was very spacious. We booked a room for four people, and it included a little lounge area as well. The apartment we were in was very well equipped, with a kitchen and two bathrooms, enough for the 4 bedrooms. Great location - close to everything. Jack manages the hostel very well and keeps everything top shape. We really appreciated that things were kept so clean and organized. Everything was clean, good location, great staff (Special thanks to George) and great value for money! What else to ask for??? Highly recommended!. We had the big room witch is actually a little apartment. It has space and privacy. The location is fine. Every thing is on walking distance. Workers from the hostel were really kind and helpful!!! The hostel was really tidy and clean!!!And really important point, really WARM!!!!. Everything was clean, well organised and beautiful. Jack, who works there, was helpful and always glad to answer our questions. We stayed in a "superior double" which was actually a really cosy apartment with great facilities seperate to the main hostel. Great place for decent money. I was very satisfied staying in Friends hostel. I fully reccomend this place. the staff are really nice and helpful very much for info about the trams, city, restaurants,etc. GREAT place to stay if you don't mind shared bathrooms and you can ignore street noise. It's very clean and friendly, we loved our stay there. Great hostel. The staff members are friendly and very helpfull. The facilities are basic but ok. The hostel is situated in the centre near Oktogon, which is great to use the public transport. Location, staff was rather helpful. Someone from other visitors must has been using internet heavily, most likely downloading torrents, as internet was worse than dial-up at some points and it was just impossible to surf web. Shame some people don't have consideration for the others. But this is not hostel's fault. The glass on the room door is too transparent which is lack of privacy. rooms' windows face the street with a lot of cars and trams, so its a bit noisy. if you use earplugs, its ok. The heating was temperamental, it would turn off at night, but the staff were happy to fix it. The pillows were also not fantastic. The blankets where a little bit small. Our airport transfer booked via reception did not show up on the day we left, which led to quite a stressfull search for alternative transport. my room was next to the road and it was bit loud in the room. The hostel fronts on a major tram line which is quite loud . . . .
