The City Hotel Budapest is in an excellent location, it is close to the main streets and restaurants and it is only a short walk from the danube and other tourist attractions. The hotel is quiet and very well kept. There are fridges, a hob and food making equiipment and cutlery and crockery in all rooms. The staff speak very good english. The hotel is in a nice quiet back street. Excellent. The staff, very helpful and polite. everybody spoke english. we had a parking spot in the hotel.Breakfast in the room, also good. Location in the city, very close to the Andrassy boulevard, quiet street, very clean, internet in the room.
all reviews » Our room was amazing. We booked a double bed with a fold out lounge and got a two storey apartment with a huge lounge/reception, kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The room was clean and so was the common areas downstairs. Is very well located, near the main train station, but not too near. Very central and neighbour of one of the most luxurious 5 star hotels of budapest. The apartaments are newly fresh and the staff is very gentle.It was such a magical city to stay at, the hotel was situated in an excelent location central to all the main attractions, the hotel was brilliant along with staff who were realy helpfull. I liked the apartment size and breakfast in the room. It was very comfortable and the staff was excellent!. It was the ideal hotel, perfect location, excellent condition and staff. The hotel is not sign posted at all and is just a white UPVC door with the street number stuck on to it. Therefore the taxi drivers could never find it. Nothing major. We did not understand that two bedrooms wre up somewhat steep stairs so we did not anticipate the need to bring a guard for the safety of young children.there was no sign of the hotel at the main entrance, but otherwise not a huge problem. poor breakfast and the madality of serving the breakfast. Still needs some finishing for those 4 stars. the staff at this hotel is very nice and helpful but don't know Budapest very well. The girl gave us wrong information of the train ticket. We end up bought the wrong ticket and waste the money. Beside this we like this hotel very much and will come back again.There was no signage and we could not find the entry - one of the staff members happened to be outside and showed us the way in. Breakfast is served in the lobby and since it was winter time during our stay it was a bit cold.Not the most beautiful place I have visited but ok. Easy to reach by car but hard to find because no hotel sign was visible (Staff met us on street though, so we found it anyway). No air conditioning - the days we were there is was very hot. Butthey did give me a water cooler to have in the room which was usedwith thanks.kitchen and cleaning staff could be better. At 4 stars you expect the mini bar to contain something... It was empty. Fully equiped kitchen, but nothing to use in it. there is no hotel sign outside. Bathroom and sink were small. Guests could not control the heat in therooms. One of two light bulbs in the bathroom kept going out and hotelstaff did not fix it despite repeated requests.No sign from the outside to recognize the hotel. Little bit difficult to find it on the street because there is no signon it. Anyway, if you know the address it's ok.questions about prepayments from the staff.
