Thomais, the hostess, was the kindest, most helpful person I have encountered in my 50 years of travel. She brought my clothes to a laundromat; mailed a rare fruit specimen (legally) to the United States; and when I lost my cellphone, picked it up (after I left Crete) and mailed it home. I liked the room which was big and bright, I could easily prepare my own dish as the cooker, coffee maker, kettle were provided or go to the tavern which was just across the street. the landlady was very helpful, kind and she even baked for us traditional cakes with cheese!! we had fresh flowers every day too.I stayed for 3 days and truly enjoyed it.Absolutely enjoyed the stay!! There were 4 of us traveling together and I booked the rooms for everyone so I was thrilled at the reaction of all that stayed here everyone enjoyed the charming rooms, the location and above all the hospitable owner!. ...all of the factors mentioned in question #2 above. Plus, the owner was very available, personable, and helpful in providing a map of the city and suggesting sights to see and places to eat and buy food. The house was conveniently located with restaurants and markets right around the corner, the room was clean and quient, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Absolutley enjoyed our stay!! We liked the cosy feeling and the different feel to these studios. It did not feel like a hotel. The location was also very good, close to restaurants and cafes.As for all the hotels in the old town, parking can be tricky. When you stay in older style BandB's you do not have the sound proof rooms that modern hotels have but you also do not have the charm. Therefore, the only complaint is that at time you hear the people above you - if possible book the top floor. If that is not availabe do not let that stop you from staying here.nothing. At times you can hear the people in the room above you.no view of the harbor.
