Clean & comfortable rooms. Staff very helpful. Breakfast had ample choices in pleasant restaurant. Rooms quiet despite train tracks in rear (most hotels along this section of Rhine have trains passing close by). Large shower. No air conditioning although evenings were cool. Front rooms view the Loreley across the river. Free parking. A 20 minute walk to St. Goar and KD Line ship dock.
all reviews » very friendly staff, very helpful and also spoke excellent English. Hotel was comfortable, clean and the family room was very big and well laid out with plenty of space. It's about 10 mins walk to the centre of St Goar along the Rhine. Spectacular views along the way. Easy to find. The position is perfect, watching the barges along the Rhine from our bedroom window was very restful. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room modern, functional and clean. Good breakfast, all at a reasonable price. Beautiful view of the Rhein. Room was spacious and clean, staff very friendly, wi-fi strong, breakfast plentiful. Despite my negative comments this was an enjoyable stay as the staff were so friendly. the staff is very friendly and this is very good hotel for the Rhein`s sightseeing. Very nicely located close to river Rehn overlooking the Loreley. Sauna is perfect, the view outside the window is Rhine. Need more surfaces to place luggage. There was quite a bit of noise from the road so we couldn't open the window at night which made it a bit hot. A little noisy at times with the train and other guests moving in the corridor, but not a big issue. No air conditioning. Nothing. We upgraded to a Rhine River View room on the first floor, which was nice, but the room was not very special. Also, hotel is near train tracks, which were very busy tracks. We had trouble sleeping because of hot weather and no aircondition. We could not open the windows to chill because of the disturbing noise from the train line and main road. The resturant. It was terrible. I had lived in Germany for 10 years in the past and this was the worst. Breakfast was fine but other than that do not eat there. It was too far to walk into St Goar. The hotel was located about 3/4 mile from St Goar and the railway station but the walk was pleasant - this may be a problem for some people. Any hotel on the Rhine can be noisy because the train line and main road share the strip of land along both riverbanks and the river barge engines are noisy. The train noise in this hotel was disturbing though mitigated by the double glazing. When choosing a hotel, it pays to look at a detailed map as the train is sometimes masked by a tunnel or runs at the back of a town. Lack of lift - long haul to 3rd floor with heavy cases. Staff need to write down meal orders. First night dinner for 2 resulted in 2 incorrect main courses but we enjoyed them anyway. Had to ask twice for coffee. Second night desert course and requested coffee were initially overlooked. Room was tiny with nowhere to store cases. Worst feature has to be the very busy railway line immediately behind he hotel. The is railway just behind the hotel and another in the opposite river bank. The trains are very loudy. So if you are sleeping ligt it could be a problem. Wi-fi should be open for every single device.
