This former monastery in Konstanz is located on a small private island on the edge of Lake Constance. It has soundproofed rooms, free breakfast and 13th-century wall paintings. The Steigenberger Inselhotel offers you a theatre-box view of Lake Constance with its unique location on a small private island. Situated next to the public park and the port, with a short bridge connecting the hotel to the town centre

Important information to guests

Dogs are welcome at this hotel in specific rooms. There will be a charge of € 25 per day (without food). In order to respect other guests, dogs are not allowed in the Seerestaurant, the sauna and fitness areas as well as at the lakeside beach. Furthermore it is compulsory to keep dogs on a leash on the Island.

Information about the area

The historical old town with its cathedral and port can be reached in just a few minutes by foot.

A trip to the island of Mainau is also recommended.

The Inselhotel has an impressive history. The 13th-century frescos in the cloister of the former Dominican Monastery reflect the building's great past.

Today all the hotel rooms have modern and first-class furnishings with a luxurious ambience, however, they differ in size and location. The heritage building has a few rooms with small balconies.

Travelling information

By car
From Stuttgart/Singen drive over the Rhein bridge towards the city centre. Before the customs, turn left into the Grenzbachstraße and at the Döbele roundabout take the turn-off towards the main train station. After passing the train station you will be in Konzilstraße. Please go straight on, following the road, cross the railway lines and on your right you will see the Steigenberger Inselhotel.
From Meersburg/Mainau, at the end of the old Rhein bridge turn right into the Rheinsteig. After a 90 ° curve you will be on the Unteren Laube, which continues to become the obere Laube. Drive towards the main train station. At the train station you will be in Konzilstraße. Please go straight on, following the road, cross the railway lines and on your right you will see the Steigenberger Inselhotel.

By train
InterRegio connection to the train station Constance. From here take a taxi to the hotel.
