    La Foret on the edge of a small town in the Perche region is close to coast and near enough to explore Chartres. The hotel which is adjacent to open parkland provides comfortable clean accommodation and friendly efficient service. The hotel restaurant ... what people say » (which is very attractive) is closed to non-residents on a Tuesday which is when we stayed so a reduced menu is offered, to our advantage! We ate Terr - Very friendly welcome. Accommodating to specific needs. Food excellent and good value. Attractive and welcoming hotel. We used it as a stopover, and for this purpose would thoroughly recommend it to others.

    We stayed at at Auberge La Pomme de Pin after a long drive from northern spain and didnt arrive until after 10pm. I wasnt sure where to park initially as it isnt obvious so parked in the public carpark directly opposite, but the manager then directed me to the rear of the auberge and opened the back gate so I could park. The restaurant had stopped... what people say » serving at that time but there is a fantastic pizzeria 2 minutes up the road that stayed open until midnight. Nice shower and the breakfast was typic - Pleasant town location. Good food and very attractive gardens at the hotel. Also, unusually for a French hotel, there were tea making facilities in the bedroom
