  I stayed at Marmotel Etoile for 6 nights because I was attending a conference at the Palais des Congres that is at 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. My primary motivation for choosing this hotel was its close proximity to the conference venue I was going to go to 3 days in a row, and it was dirt cheap relative to the hotel suggested by th... what people say » e conference which was more than twice as expensive. This is Paris, so expensive is a way of life.   The staff is very friendly, specially the girl who's in the reception during the morning. She was very cute (as a person and physically :p). They're all willing to help you in whichever doubt you have about the city. The room, even though is not fancy, is enough for what it is used: to sleep. I don't have any complains. The zone is surrounded by supermarkets and cheap restaurants, close to a metro line - The friendly young staff that seem always ready to listen to clients. The cleanliness, the area in which hotel was located, a very calm area in heart of city, so close to a main metro station. I honestly enjoyed my short time stay.
