  Great hotel for a one night stay with children. The owner was so happy and friendly and very welcoming. Rooms were small but exactly what we wanted. Shower was lovely and hot and very powerful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely and also very good portions and it was priced very well. I cannot comment about going into Chambery as we only stayed one night so didn't have chance. I woul - Used it for an overnight stay on a long drive from Northern Italy to Paris. Had a really lovely and good value meal in the Restaurant when we arrived. Breakfast was cheap and very good. Rooms were compact but ideal for an overnight stay while travelling. Stall were very friendly even though they could not speak english very well. Would recommend.

  Right opposite stn, you could hardly miss your train! Convenient bar/cafe even if scruffy/dodgy - ok for male travellers or non fussy females as a small group. Room had everything necessary - VERY close to Chambery train / bus station. Rooms have been refurbished somewhat in recent years.

  Friendly welcome. We used the hotel as a stopover for skiing, perfect location for a short trip to the resort the next day. One family travelling with us arrived very late and still had a friendly and helpful welcome. Breakfast maybe a bit expensive but was a buffet so you could eat as much as you liked!   It was my first day in Chambery and Maurice happily met me at the coach station. He helped me with my many suitcases. Refuge Renoir was welcoming and inviting and would happily recommend to others visiting Chambery - Friendly and helpful staff, homelike atmosphere, clean and tasteful room, beautiful details of room, good location.
