Beautiful Finnish design throughout the hotel makes this a delight to stay in. Everything is comfy, elegant and simple and guests are made to feel valued by the attention to details that enhance the soul as well as care for the body. Lovely staff too! . Quite small room. loud air conditioning. they forgot to clean my room one day, but than they let me use the minibar :)). The room was small but ok.Bathroom was a little small and not that well constructed - water leaked from shower. Beds were a little soft. breakfast menu is limited to cheapest options, coffee disgusting, the restaurant noisy in the morning, no late meal at the bar. wireless internet in room. No curtain in the shower, though it is probably not so bad, because in the shower so small the curtain would have been only taking too much space.Bathroom was clean but slightly smelly. I thought one of the reception staff didn't give us much information on good places to eat out. All she did was point us to a information brochure.I did not like the fact that the hotel was in renovation - i had a mooving platform permanent in front of my windows and the workers blocked the windows with pale folie so I had no view outside. In such situations the hotel must offer someting as compesation (as it happened in other places in the worls where I have been).

The Finnish restaurant of the new and improved Hotel Helka is simply called Helkan keittiö; Helka’s kitchen. The menu offers variable dishes based on fresh Finnish ingredients: fish, reindeer, game, vegetables, mushrooms and berries. Enjoy the casual elegance of local delicacies and traditional dishes à la Helka. Helkan baari is the elegant lobby bar next to the hotel reception. The cosy atmosphere invites you to sit down and relax.

Hotel information details

The sauna complex is on the top floor with a wonderful view over the city. Here you can enjoy the sauna and king-size jacuzzi in style. The cosy lounge with a fireplace is the perfect spot for a small meeting or just to wind down, and it is always included in the sauna fee. The conference room for 30 people is situated next to the restaurant Helkan keittiö. The room is fully equipped for meetings, with complete catering service either in the conference room or at the restaurant.

Hotel Helka is renovating its sauna department until the end of March 2009. During the renovation morning sauna is not available for hotel guests.
