Food was excellent! Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was really nice and friendly. Owner of the hotel gave us really great tips and informations about the Park. I speaked with owner and he told me about his plans of improving services and I really like it. We hope to come again when the swimming pool and wellness centre is finished. Excellent! I would recommend this accommodation to everyone. Really great hosts and service, nice area, close to lakes and excellent food.

The only positive comment is the host did drive us to the bus stop when we left.Proximity to preferred location (Plitvice lakes - Croatia). Owner and staff gave helpful advice about location. The young assistant tried to make up for the obviously poor guest house; dinner was good, but there was no choice of menue at all, no coke available, no variety at breakfast and almost cold coffee and milk. No dessert after the meal!. The hotel was being renovated which made our stay a bit uncomfortable - we came back one afternoon to find builders staring into our window which was not very pleasant - so i would check if renovations were findished before booking. the uphill trek back from the lakes was longer than suggested on the website.It was not as clean as the other apartments, small family hotels we stayed in Croatia. On arrival no information given about the facilities within the hotel. Limited food choice, no desert and coffee offered (see above). The outside of the hotel was shabby compared to the other equivalent hotels in the road (tatty outside seating area, dead flowers in window boxes). We stayed 2 nights, room was not serviced during the day (unmade bed). Expensive compared to other hotels in Croatia.Way too expensive, as we had stayed in another place for two nights prior for a lot less. Facilities were very basic (room only plus food - no lounge, or anything else) for the price (e130 per night). Room not serviced during the stay. Food was ok. Service was amateurish - white wine (e25 euros per bottle) was served with ice in glass because bottle not chilled. Physical fight between male and female staff in the garden outside our room after 11pm. Disturbing - in more ways than one!. The guest house was by no stretch of imagination in a nice, park-like area as promised in the internet; it was under reconstruction, the rooms were dark; no proper bed sheets, only woolen blankets which were not warm enough; no heating overnight and no heating in the moring; smell of gas in the hallway; bugs on the dirty carpet and lots of dust; TV did not function, etc.

Information about the area

Plitvice Lakes count among Europe's most beautiful national parks. They are situated in the mountainous region of Lika, Croatia. A total of 16 lakes lying at different altitudes are separated by travertine barriers and linked by foamy waterfalls and cascades. Their creation is a scientific phenomenon. As the geological processes continue today the lakes and waterfalls are continually changing.
The beauty of the lakes and caves, forests and meadows, creeks, rivers and cascades as well as a rich flora and fauna are a magnet for tourists from around the world.

All the rooms have recently been refurbished so that each has its own bathroom.

Each of the 4-bed rooms has approximately 45 square meters and a balcony with a view. The beds are visually detached two by two.

Travelling information

You can get there either from Zagreb or from the Adriatic coast along D-1 motorway. Arriving from Zagreb - When you are in Zagreb, get on the highway A1 Zagreb - Karlovac - Get off the highway just before Karlovac (you will notice brown sign "Plitvicka Jezera", which shows direction to Plitvice lakes) - from that point you have around 86km on the road D1 - When you are in Karlovac follow the main road (D1), and drive to Plitvicka jezera (Plitvice lakes) - Once you get to Plitvicka Jezera drive past Entrance 1 (Jezero Hotel) and Entrance 2 (Bellevue and Plitvice Hotels). After another 1 km, at the village of Plitvicka Jezera turn right just past the small bus stop - Continue driving 50 metres to the Y-intersection near the village map - that is entrance to our village "Mukinje" - Turn right at Y, proceed driving for 150 metres past first turning to left, drive another 100 metres and take that turning to left just in front of the old house which was the post office before. After another 50 metres you will reach the Villa Mukinja which will be on your left side. The house is located in a quiet area and is surrounded by lush greenery. It is far enough from the motorway and closest to the lakes. Arriving from the Adriatic 15 km after the town of Korenica and Borje Motel you will get to Jezerce. Keep driving for another mile. Turn left where there is the sign «Plitvicka Jezera». Once you have entered the village follow the map or the instructions above.
