  Beijing is the cleanest city I've ever been to (and I had my share oftravels), and this hotel just tops it all. You can lick everything thereif you want, even the ashtrays.   Fabulous location near Tiananmen, Forbidden City, and Wangfujing shopping and markets. The accommodation is basic but the price is right. The staff are friendly. I took one of the hostel's tours to the great wall, it was fabulous. The staff recommended a great restaurant down the road that served delicious duck!   Although I thought we were staying at the main Red Wall Garden Hotel, we ended up, fortunately, at the San Yan Jing Hutong, which I assume is a part of the Red Wall Garden operation. This place was picture perfect, a wonderful Chinese setting with a clientele that one couldn't be more pleased with. I don't know if all the hutong hotels are like this one, - It was very close, within walking distance, of two of the most famous hutongs. Very comfortable beds with a modern bathroom. The staff waited up for us until 1 am to let us in when returned to our room. The breakfast was great with many selections.

  Staff is very kind - one of our young guests (11-years boy) forgot his passport in hotel and we were very happy when we called hotel 6 hours later and were informed that his passport was found and now we can get it - and so we did immediately, our flight was not cancelled. We are very thankful to hotel staff fot this kindness and help !!! - Good ... what people say » service at reception. As we requested non smoking room, we got upgraded to an executive level room. Good size of big bedroom and living room. Also the swimming pool is fantastic with a big pool. Will definitely come back next time
