Excellent hotel right in the middle of Central Beijing close to the most famous places that all visitors must see. Surrounded by many shops and inexpensive restaurants, amazing variety of high-quality street food can also be found close nearby. Convenient for all kinds of travellers, great value for money. Wonderful cookes breakfast that even included Indian dises apart from Continental and Chinese. Comfortable beds, old-fashined but functional pool, sauna and steam with traveler-friendly timin.
all reviews » The staff were excellent. Very friendly and extremely helpful. On our first night there I misplaced my purse and the staff could not have done any more to help me find it quickly. They also helped entertain my baby son during check-in and check-out. The hotel has great restaurants too, we enjoyed tasty evening meals and breakfasts with a good choice for everyone. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Good location. Good breakfast spread. Within walking distance to train station. Close to places of attraction like wangfujing street, forbidden city, beihai park, houhai etc. Cabs easily available at very reasonable cost. Would recommend hotel to anyone who is looking for good hotel to stay in Beijing. The hotel has a heat location. It is however it is about 15-20 minutes walk from the metro. Staff were very helpful. The level of Englush was fantastic. The rooms were really warm. As we were there during spring festival they had a great restaurant offer on. For 128rmb they had a beautiful buffet plus local beer and soft drinks. Hard to beat!. there were lots of good facilities such as swimming pool etc. the bar area downstairs is nice. the location is amazing. I literally dont think you could get a better location than this. the room was really comfortable and one of the days we were there it was my birthday and the hotel left a lovely Birthday cake in my room. Club Lounge upgrade was a good deal with very tasty canapés and a generous cocktail hour from 5:30 to 7:30. Loved that we were so central to everything that we wanted to see and do. The hotel staff were wonderful in organising a car for us to go to the Great Wall and the buffet breakfast was very good also. The smoking room I opted for had actually no usual smell, though the entire floor was occupied by smokers, so had nothing to complain about in the end. The decor of our room seemed a little dated, although it was clean and comfortable. Cant find local breakfast around the hotel except 1 fast food joint. However this is not an issue. I think being asked to pay for wired Internet never mind wifi, in the room is a bit much. Most budget hotels are now offering free wifi. the concierge tried to rip us off with a taxi telling us we wouldnt get one in the rain and that we should pay ten times the cost and use the hotel car. it was rubbish. we got a taxi fine. the decor is a bit dated and its a bit shabby around the edges but still very comfortable. don't use their internet if you can avoid it. we used it once for 3-5 minutes and were charged for 2, 40 minute blocks. nothing. Nothing. The hotel needs some upkeep - I saw peeling paint in the elevator shafts, the need for new caulking in the bathrooms, and the cabinets and closet doors in the bedroom need adjusting. The pillows are much better at the Shanghai Crown Plaza. Rooms are quite dated and need to be refurbished. Should have free Wi-Fi. Bathroom wall was glass so light from bathroom was disturbing to one occupant of the room. Wifi should be available in the rooms at no extra cost. Even the free wifi in the lobby did not always work. We didn't find the wait staff to be very efficient when in the lobby or the main restaurant. Most times we had to get up and find someone to ask for our drinks. Restaurant was expensive and food was only mediocre. Nothing to dislike about this hotel- well situated near main sights to see. - Few people speak english (only the luggage carrer) - People are not helpful - No wifi included (if you travel in China). The airconditioning was not very efficient in cooling the room during this unusually hot summer. Free wi-fi keeps crashing/ disconnecting, small swimming pool (10-15m in length), small fitness centre (only few cardios and free weights). Liked it all. charge of wi-fi in a room. Slow service in the lobby bar. the conceirge booked us a taxi for the great wall and commited an english speaking driver, but when the driver arrived he did not even know a word of english. Later to compensate us they waived off the service charge on the train tickets we needed for shanghai. The WIFI connection is very poor and slow. poor Internet connections, cost of Internet usage. nothing. The extreme cost of relaxing for a beer in lobby. We actually got sick of it and started going out taking our food orders out as well. Rooms are older and small. i did not like the room with windows facing inside. breakfast was more expensive than normal. old furniture old ambience needs renovation of interiors. Small rooms. Hot tub is cold and there was little heat to the room. Nothing. Not very clost to the metro station. A bit cold in the room. Wi-fi not free. Do not use it because it's to expensive. Some of the rooms could do with a renovation. unable to accommodate us in interconnecting rooms. Grouting in the bathrooms Electric sockets. small water-pool. no free wifi. Room need to be renovative a lot of people in the lobby.
