We booked a king business suite at Travelodge Oshawa last minute on letsbookhotel.com because of a death in the family. Upon arrival, our room was ready and checking in was quick, friendly yet professional. The room was spotless, all the electronics worked great and a bonus was the endless hot water supply! And the very comfortable king bed, complete with a down alternative comforter. The continental breakfast was great and in my opinion better than most higher end hotels. There was a choices.
all reviews » Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean. Easy access to 401 or to shopping malls & secondary roads to stay off the 401. We were upgraded to a room that was awesome & fit our stay perfectly. Breakfast bar had hot food (eggs, bacon or sausage) along with the usual & real cutlery, cups & plates! Bonus!!!! A wonderful stay. it is convienent to 401 and to hwy 2, not to mention it is very close and convienient to shopping and all the imeneties that we needed. We travel to oshawa once a month or every other month because my spouse loves roller skating and coachlite roller gardens is very close to the travelodge. The pillows were a little big so after the first night we asked housekeeping and they helped us out. Great 2nd nights sleep. Front desk staff was also very helpful. They couldn't accomodate a late checkout but apologized and explained why. Very polite. We liked the sliding glass doors onto the patio. My husband, the smoker, could go outside to smoke. The breakfast here was the best. Hot food and real plates is not the norm. Close to golf, shopping and a variety of good restaurants. Beds were comfortable and facilities clean. Would definitely stay again. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is a good place to stay with new and pleasant rooms. Indoor swimming pool (a whirpool is available) is not small and it is in a pleasant light green area. Staff were wonderful..pool and hot tub were really nice. Decor in the room was pleasant and inviting,..Rooms were. Rey clean and maids very accommodating. I liked the TV/internet facilities, the indoor pool & hottub, the breakfast facilities and the proximity to the Oshawa airport and the Oshawa Centre. Clean, comfy, great location and worth every penny. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels but this one does it right. I'd return any time!. We were tight for time and when our room wasn't ready for an early book in they found us another room and we made it to the wedding on time. Complimentary internet, easy location off highway and conveniently located to shopping plaza and Civic Recreation Center. Room was nicely decorated, and although close to the highway, the room was quite soundproof. I liked the breakfast, there was plenty of hot & cold items to choose from. Was friendly .quiet and most of all clean and comfortable>. The King size bed was excellent for a good nights sleep. Everything was fine: the bed was soft; I was upgraded :). The motel is along Highway 401, far from the town of Whitby which you can reach driving 4-5 Km and from Oshawa. There are no places to eat unless you drive at least 1 km. The buffet breakfast table is placed in a narrow side of the lobby so sometimes it is crowded when more people are having breakfast. Breakfast was so, so. Not very,hot...weekends had no eggs and bacon,just sausage which I don't like. Parking for handicap was sparse and parking on the weekend was hard to,find. This was an unplanned stay for me due to the record snow storm of Feb 2013. Snow removal in the parking lot could have been better. No complaints at all! That's rare these days!. There were pieces of the paint from the bottom of the pool floating in the water. It did not look like the pool deck had been cleaned in along time. Hair and dirt around the edges under the chairs and tables. The comforter on our beds had an odor (stale paint smell) and I felt the overall design of the hotel was poor. Only one elevator at the main entrance to serve the entire hotel and no entrance on the ground level in the middle of the hotel. If you had to park behind the hotel, you had to lug your luggage up stairs to your room or drag it all the way to the front of the building. Should have some scrambled eggs to go with the sausage for breakfast. Eggs were tasteless. Internet ad said it was close to the Go station. Really, it was a $10 taxi ride away. Room not ready upon arrival, heater had a burnt smell. View of the roof from our room. Room too close of the 401 and a lot of noise from cars and trucks. Ice machine on our floor was broken several days. For some reason our room cards had to be replaced everyother day. Air conditioner either broken or set too hot. elevator was broken had asked for ground floor room on booking room on line... never got it... bit of walking with luggage!. The bacon was awful! All the sports teams were very loud thru the night time. Loud parties. Really dusty room. Requested a queen bed room and were given two doubles. Pool was over-chlorinated (or something) both my children had bad reaction.
