We parked our car on Friday and didn't move it 'til Sunday. We walked everywhere and loved it. Right in the middle of Sherbrooke St. action and a nice walk to Old Montreal. Some complained about sirens or street noise outside, but hey, you're in a city and the hotel can't control that! Our room was comfy and well supplied. Good breakfast at a reasonable price and a relaxing bar. Loved sitting in the sun on the 11th floor deck on Oct. 12! Special shout-outs to the bellmen and front desk staff. V.
all reviews » The Hilton Garden Inn is in a perfect location for visiting all Montreal has to offer. We were lucky enough to be there when the Jazz Festival was on and the venue was within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Metro stop near by to take you all round the city. The hotel itself is very welcoming with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and the rooms are large, air conditioned, nicely decorated with very comfortable beds. A huge plus was the washing machine and tumble drier facilities available. The hotel is well situated for shopping, dining and entertainment - all within walking distance. The staff were exemplary, the dining at the hotel was excellent. After travelling and shopping all day, to be able to stay in and enjoy great service that was friendly and amusing was terrific! The menu offered enough choice for anyone, and what we had was exceptional. The cosy atmosphere of the in-house bar for cocktails at happy hour was great fun and very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite spacious. The hotel was very accommodating in giving us adjoining rooms for our children. We had a good experience. The hotel is across the street from McGill University and so was perfect for us as our son was enrol long at the University. We had a good overall experience. This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. Its location is excellent as it is near the subway, shopping, and a good variety of restaurants. The price is reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We've stayed at several other hotels in the city, but this has been the best. Good to have pool facilities the and the open to air on the top floor. Good security using the room key for lift access. Good ability to make tea without it being tainted with coffee smell. We were there on New Year's Day and the staff made a number of calls for us to see what was open and directed us to various places. They can tell you more about how to enjoy the city. The location is great. It's on Sherbrooke St. W, and is close to McGill University and Mont Royal. Old Montreal is also within walking distance. Very clean, quiet, fridge available in the room as well as microwave. Didn't use pool and gym facilities, but they looked clean, and very well maintained. Centrally located, close to shopping, metro, restaurants, and even grocery store. The location was adjacent to McGill University, shopping, the Montreal underground, travel options, and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The heated pool and hot tub were great after brisk winter walking tours. Loved the location! So ideal; we were just blocks from the main stages of the International Jazz Festival. No complaints about this hotel. Very modern and clean, with incredibly -- almost ridiculously -- spacious rooms. My Daughter is a McGill student and loved the fact that we could all stay in the room and not get zinged for extra people - most hotels in Montreal make a killing on this feature. Proximity to everything was great!. All the staff we met were very friendly and enjoyed having a laugh with us. The hotel was ideally located downtown for us to explore Montreal Island in all directions, much of it on foot, as we are keen walkers. The hotel was excellent and could not have been better for our needs. They even had a washing machine and dryer for the residents use which was very useful for us at the half way stage of a 3 week holiday. Loved the proximity, loved the amenities and the room was really great, loved the jacuzzi and the pool, . Restaurant and lobby bar also excellent!.. Would go back again definitely. Location, friendly staff, attention to details, kindness in serving cookies and juice every afternoon to all guests, pool, in-room amenities (coffee machine and saches every day). Nothing; they took care of us. Beds and pillows not as comfortable as in some other chain hotels, but not bad. The restaurant in the hotel was convenient but a bit pricey. Lack of knowledge about some of the extras available - had to find this out for myself. It would've been better if some of these things were explained at check-in. We would have liked breakfast to be included in the letsbookhotel.com quote. Staff was not as attentive as they should of been. Late at night, just leaned on the front counter just staring at us coming in knowing we fidgeted with the door and simply not even acknowledging anything but the fact that we had a bit too much too drink but nonetheless we were very poised... Parking (was no space available). Felt it was pricey after all the taxes and parking fees and should have included breakfast. wish you had Starbuck's coffee in the rooms!! (and real creamers in the frig for coffee instead of CoffeeMate). The beds, although my husband and I are of average size and weight, the mattress's were very uncomfortable, hard to get a good night's sleep. I also requested a quiet room and was surprised to have a room that faced the huge air conditioning units. The bar was expensive and did not have a very good appetizer/snack menu. The restaurant as well was expensive. We ended up at the Holiday Inn for breakfast (good quality and price) and the Delta Hotel for supper on the first night there - they offered the "Taste of Montreal" menu. Excellent on all counts. Come on Hilton - you can do better in the food service area. Bar was understaffed. Expensive parking but to be expected in Montreal!. The parking lot is tight, and the steep drop into it was scary! Hate that parking was not included. And the elevator can get annoying because you have to swipe you room key to use it. Was all good. Very tight underground car park. Note I didnt eat there so cant comment. Minor issue but coffee downstairs by front desk in the morning would be nice since you did have coffee in the evening. Restaraunt had difficulty with orders and we just discovered they charged us twice for breakfast on our Visa. Please correct this and forward me a email to this effect. We all make mistakes but it is in the fixing it that friends are made. slightly noisy due to the very busy street; however this was not problematic for us. A little pricey. You have to pay a lot extra for breakfast which could have been included in the room price. Having to use the key cards all the time, even in the elevators. The parking fee should be added in the price. They also had many hidden fees. The web site did not explicitly show the taxes (only percents). It would be nice to see the actual number including taxes as the "Total Price". Noisy group of guys in the room next door at 02h30. having to swipe your hotel card to use the elevator even for going down. It is such a nuisance especially if you left your card in your room with your wife. At checkout, we were given a bill that was over $100 what we expected, all in hotel fees and taxes. The parking garage was a mess and very dangerous. The beds were somewhat uncomfortable. Breakfast was not included in our stay. The beds were a little hard. I was under the impression that the continental breakfast was included with all the rooms. Sadly the family sitting next to us had vouchers to eat for free. I'm not certain how they go that deal, but it should be offered to everyone. Breakfast tray left in corridor near our room all day. Horrible view of building site out of our window.
