We stayed 3 nights Sep 27-29. Large suite with living room and sofa bed, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and decent bath. Two newer tv sets and balcony overlooking Rue Sherbrook. Was on the 15th floor. Very clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was similar to the hotel chains. Only negative was some traffic noise echoing up from the street below, but it is in the middle of the city, and the 20.00 parking fee which is standard practice in Montreal. I would stay .
all reviews » Location was very good, about 3 blocks north of St Catherine street - the main shopping street. By foot 10mn to the cinema, 10-15mn from Chinatown, 15mn from Latin quarter, 20mn from rue St Paul (the old city part). Efficient staff, pet friendly, kitchen well equipped. Pool, some gym equipment, laundry facilities. Regular supermarket at 2,5 small blocks, organic supermarket even closer. It is very conveniently located, walking distance from metro, bus stops, on the major blvd, close to downtown and about 15 min walk from the Quartier des Spectacles. The unit had a kitchen, small, but well equipped and nicely organized. The bed was amazingly comfortable, firm. For the price and location - highly recommend, if you want a more of an apartment feel. Our one bedroom suite was just perfect and very clean but not too fancy. The location is quite convenient for walking everywhere in downtown and old town Montreal. Easy and efficient check in and out. B'fast service well done. Will return for a summer visit to Montreal. Highly recommended. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about good eats and how to get around. We got an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise! I would stay there again at 139.00 per night plus lousy 18.5% tax. Kitchen was extremely small (but well appointed). Elevators too slow - staff should have their own elevator. At breakfast time, it is very hard to get an elevator (empty one). Parking at $20/day was a little steep but very convenient just behind the hotel. Rooms are a bit outdated but the size, cleanliness, and price more than make up for it. On Sherbrooke street so can be noisy for some visitors. The breakfast room is small and quite often busy but you can easily take a tray to your room so not a big problem. The lifts are really slow. If you need quick elevators and tons of air conditioning in your room you may be disappointed. We were fine with it but the average American might not be. The only two things that were a disadvantage were the fact there were only two elevators for 17 floors, and the size of the parking area, which could only take small cars. Larger cars had to accommodated in a neighbouring hotel. For such a big building they should have better elevators. At time we needed to wait quite a bit for one due to "rush" hour. Breakfast can be a little bit better. Nothing!!!. Breakfast was very basic. Parking is available in the hotel parking across the street which is not a big deal but not the most convenient too. All good nothing to dislike. We found that air conditioning did not circulate well within the one bedroom apartment. Our bed room is quite warm while the living room is very nice and cold. Please note that the weather on that particular day (Fri, May 31) was very hot (30 C). Street was a bit noisy. No cons overall. If anything, the elevator was a little small for the size of the hotel, but it wasn't a problem for us. Could use a few more lounge chairs by the pool. Lack of parking for larger vehicles. I had to park a couple of blocks away at another location and teh cost was quite high. Nothing. No dislikes. The breakfast area was very small for such a large hotel (although the breakfast itself was very good) also there were no facilities (showers etc) for the pool and gym. Breakfast could be better. The breakfast area was rather small considering the number of guests staying. It was rather crowded at times. Limited food options in the breakfast buffet. Housekeeping did not clean the dishes in the room, so we had to clean them by ourselves. WiFi is not very fast. Good breakfast included with room but the layout of the breakfast buffet lead to " traffic jams" -- could auberges re-think layout. Even though the hotel is non -smoking our room smelt of cigarette smoke & there were butts on the balcony. However after we alerted reception the problem they ordered a air purifier which did the trick. The elevators were very slow and not enough of them to accommodate the amount of guests. The doors closed too quickly, also. Mattress was very hard. The parking garage is a nightmare. The slopes to enter and leave the garage are horrorfying and the garage is way too small. The fact that we got a parking ticket whilst registering and getting our parking permit. I don't have anything other than the parking was very tight space wise but this isn't a deal breaker as they did offer parking at Delta too. elevator waiting times were long at times. Very tight underground parking.I wish we would have stayed another night. Tight elevator use. Breakfast area crowded. Temperature control in room not easy to regulate. The breakfast should at least have eggs in it. We stayed there for eight nights and in the end it was not much fun going for breakfast any more as it had become very monotonous!. Breakfast great but dining room can get crowded at peak times. Poor quality coffee at breakfast and weedy flowerless planters on the roof deck. No complaints. N/A. It's very clean, but a little outdated and some parts are a bit rundown. Elevator small and slow, Breakfastroom too small and very busy. - gym equipment not update/broke; - breakfast room too small - very congested everywhere from setting of food/machines to sitting area; - pull-out bed very poor quality - way too soft. The housekeeping staff was unpredictable. The first day, we had an outstanding housekeeper...no so the remainder of the stay.
